“Fun place to walk around...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

This is a fun place to walk around, particularly in the summer, but winter is ok too. There are some fun shops-Duluth Pack and some yummy candy stores. The restaurants are average however and better ones can be found off the beaten path. In the summer it is fun to watch the big ships come in to port, buy popcorn from the popcorn wagons and walk along the boardwalk! Definately a great place for people of all ages.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This is a great area to visit when at Duluth. The second time we stayed in Duluth we opted to stay at Canal Park itself and were very pleased with our decision to do so. From our hotel we were able to walk around the entire canal, access all the restaurants and shops (and didn't have to worry about parking... which we noticed is a big issue when it gets busy).

“Pretty all year round!”

SUmmer breezes and just a beautiful drive plus dinner at Red Lobster is amazing here! Ran a 10k out on canal park one year and it was very fun! Unigue atmosphere on this penninsula!

“Wonderful atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Duluth has done a great job renavating this area because years ago it was not so good but the whole area is so walker, dog, kid friendly that it's mesmerizing and with L. Superior there makes it even better

“All seasons, many reasons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Lake Superior surprises many travellers who expect a ho-hum northern experience, on either side of the Canadian/American border. One of the highlights on the Big Lake, is Duluth MN's Canal Park area. Not far behind, is Thunder Bay Ontario's new marina, with an excellent scandinavian style restaurant, "BIGHTS". Duluth and Thunder Bay are only a 4 hour drive apart, with incredible scenery and outstanding hiking trails en route. If you're in the market for a refreshing short vacation, this stretch of mostly undiscovered turf may have you writing "wish you were here" postcards for the first time.
