“BEST VIEWED FROM BAYFRONT PARK”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Bring a folding chair, or just sit on the grass, and enjoy the comings and goings of boats and ships of many sizes. Each time there is an approach there is the rich sound of boat horns, the responding answer of the bridge operator, and then the "salutes" as the boat or ship passes under the bridge.

A camera is a must to capture views of vessels "threading" their way through the canal and into the harbor or exiting the harbor. The huge Lakers seem close enough to reach out and touch as they manuever past Bayfront Park.

“Must see in Duluth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We visit Duluth often but never tire of the harbor area. The bridge is one of a kind??
Fun to walk over to the other side as well. People run to see the bridge rise and ships enter the port.

“so cool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

Really fun experience... we watched a boat go under, and the bridge go up/down. Just don't get stuck waiting to cross the bridge when it is going up! it takes a while to go down!

“Awesome Contraption”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

This thing is way neat. Not a draw bridge but the whole roadway is lifted straight up like an elevator to let the sea going freightors throug to the bay.
