We were greeted at the front desk by a very friendly and helpful staff member who took the time to provide information about the hotel as well as about Detroit Lakes and area. Our spacious room (king bed, whirlpool, TV, small fridge and microwave) was a welcome sight. The big bathrobes on the bed were a picture of luxury! I thought the carpet might do with a cleaning but we were certainly pleased with the room. This Best Western Plus Holland House is located right off Highway 10 (easy access) and has the city’s bike path at its front door. We cycled around the lake (approx. 18 km) to enjoy the varied scenery and followed up with a relaxing time in the whirlpool. The breakfasts at Holland House beat any we have previously experienced in a hotel: eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, waffles, cereals, apples, canned fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee. It is the “Plus staff” that makes this a Best Western Plus hotel. We needed to make a change in our three-night reservation and the folks were so accommodating. All staff always had cheery greetings for all patrons.

Very well maintained and appointed property. Room clean and very comfortable with small frig and microwave. Excellent breakfast and great staff. All at very terrific price!! Was very pleasantly surprised for the price. Highly recommend!!

The front desk help was extremely helpful. Even offered to carry our luggage upstairs but we didn't need the help. Room and hotel are very clean. The location is convenient to restaurants as well. We hope to stay here on our return trip.

My wife and three young kids spent a night at the Best Western Puss Holland House - ages, 3, 5 and 11 and had a super time. When we pulled up (outside right to our door) our daughter said it was her first time ever staying at a "motel" but we were not disappointed. The rooms were newly decorated this year so looked brand new. The Layout of the room was great with a sofa sleeper and extra TV off to the side. Everything was clean. The free breakfast was very extensive and good. Best of all was the swim area. My kids had a blast. The pool temperature was warm (not like many places) and the waterslide was great. Instead of getting dumped into a pool at the bottom like most, you just went down to a level shoot until you stopped which made it less intimidating for little kids, plus you could get many more rides out of it since it was quicker to get back to the stairs. The room came with a DVD player and DVD's that could be checked out which was also great. Every aspect exceeded my expectations.
