“Very fun place to go for lunch by boat on Lake Vermillion.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

We are here for a family reunion renting a big house and pontoon on the lake. We have enjoyed many lunches at The Landing and have been very impressed by the great food, drinks, and service. It was really busy at lunch yesterday, and service was slower, but we still had a great time.

“mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

I will start by complimenting the new owners for the recent upgrade of the landing. beautiful bar and dining room log furniture create such a grand look. the lakeside patio and pontoon stage are great fun. the new lakeside tables look great but are very uncomfortable. seat is too narrow. after 30 minutes we all commented and so did the table behind us. ouch. now the serious part. the food. higher prices, smaller portions. I ordered the walleye sandwich. what I really got was 1/2 sandwich for $14.00. 1 thin slice of great bread. 1 thin slice of tomato, a small patch of romaine-a thin piece of fish that was 5 inches by 1 1/2". basically 1/4 of a small filet. I seriously wanted to ask the waitress for the other 1/2! come on! i will pay 14 for a great sandwich but never again. the other party at my table had a basic burger. where was the beef? the bun was much bigger than the little patty that was hidden within. fries and onion rings were good. service was fantastic. lets get this food thing straightened out or there will be plenty of locals that will just not order food there. you have a great thing going there with the new great look dont ruin it for yourselves by being cheap!!!

“Please Stop the Upsell”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

Same great location for boaters, new menu featuring one intriguing entree containing "ions" but most items are thinly-disguised Upper Lakes Foods fare. Service has been slow, but hope to see it improve as the all-new staff get into the groove. Portions can be skimpy, for the price. Main gripe: servers are constantly trying to "upsell" like at Manny's in Mpls: "Can we make your drink a double?", "How about another dessert for the table?" [after most had declined and the dessert ordered hadn't even been finished by its sharers], "Do you want the wings charred? [for $1.50 on top of whatever the base price is -- the menu doesn't reveal that]". Suggestions from the servers can be helpful, of course, but the upselling is just pushy and makes diners wary. Please work on the service, and stop the upsell if you want customers to feel comfortable and return.

“Dedicated New Owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

The new owners, Tony and Matt are really dedicated to making The Landing a great place to enjoy on Lake Vermilion. Yes, the food can be a bit slow coming out at busy times but Tony informed me that this spring, they will be going out 30 feet to enlarge the kitchen which should help to rectify the situation. They also have a limited bar menu available until 1:00am. The addition of the decking down by the lake and the floating stage for music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is a wonderful addition. Bartenders Al and Tammy Jo really make you feel welcome when walking into the newly furnished restaurant. As big as Lake Vermilion is, there are very few places to enjoy by boat and they need our support through this transitional time. It is a great place and will just keep getting better and better!

“Will not be back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

We went to the landing took forever to get our food over an hour they weren't that busy and on a Monday really. Our server was good and apologized Manager was not very friendly and no help. People that ordered after us were done eating before we got our food. I am very disappointed and spent a lot of money on a meal that the burger didn't even fit on the bun.
