My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and wanted to go somewhere up North. I’m pregnant so we were not looking to go too far up and found that the Oldenburg house was the perfect distance from the cities and also close to Duluth (a city that we love) We were so happy about our stay at the Oldenburg house. Glenn and Helen’s hospitality and the great conversations we had made our trip so memorable and special. The home is beautiful and the property is amazing. If you’re into hiking or biking the Oldenburg house backs right up to Jay Cooke park with miles of paths for biking or hiking. The room we stayed in was very nice and comfortable with a very large bathroom attached. We spent one day in Duluth and it was only a 15 minute drive from the Oldenburg house. We found the town of Carlton to be lovely and enjoyed dinner twice at the Streetcar Kitchen. The night of our anniversary Glenn made us a beautiful bonfire and we had such a great time celebrating. Helen made us delicious brownies that my husband will not stop talking about We will definitely be back to the Oldenburg house for another visit. Such a lovely place!
