My fiancee surprised me with a weekend visit to Cannon Falls, MN. He booked the 'Quilter's Haven". It is a beautiful room on the 3rd floor of this wonderful old manse. We were greeted by an attendant with a smile, she made a us feel right at home, listing the house rules, and giving us a tour of the building- with a quick history attached. There was coffee, tea, and cookies at most times of the day.
The room we booked was on the 3rd floor, had a flat screen TV with a DVD attached, a Jacuzzi tub, and a king size bed. The decor was wonderful. It had an old world charm, with all the modern amenities. Our one main complaint of the room was the bed was WAY too firm. We both woke with terrible back aches, and we sleep on a firm bed at home. When we spoke with the other guests, they remembered the bed being that way as well. We tried the other beds, and the rest were much much more comfortable. The main breakfast course served daily was definitely lacking, as we are not very big on eggs quiche style- which was served both days we stayed, in 2 very different ways. The accompaniments of breakfast made the meal so much appetizing.
One thing the innkeepers did inform when we booked was the placement of the room also affected your 'extracurricular activities'. Makes a heck of a lot of sense if you ask me- Thank you Nick and Polly for fair warning when booking.
