“Best Resort For Ultimate Pampering And Relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2008

.My Favorite resort for a getaway! The Spa is the Ultimate Pampering and the Staff is so wonderful! Everyone is so helpful and you can tell by looking at other guests with smiles on their faces too. The amenities here are endless. This is one Resort you do not have to leave, you can do it all right here! My Family looks forward to Craguns every year and this year we are going twice! Craguns is clearly a 5 Star Resort in our book! Exceptional Service and Staff! Camp Craguns is great for the kids, the pontoon rides are fabulous and not to forget the Horse drawn trolley rides. We really enjoyed our own private deck off the Suite and watch the sunrise on Gull Lake, it was breathless! Thank you Cragun's! Sincerely, The Gage's.

  • Liked — Exceptional Service and 5 Star Amenities! Pampering all the way for the whole Family!

We just stayed at this beautiful resort this past weekend over MEA. We have stayed 3 times with our kids and I took one trip with my girlfriend’s a couple of years ago. My husband and I and our 2 kids (age 8 and 10) absolutely love Cragun’s! The staff is so friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the entertainment and activities are fantastic and non stop! They have a poolside “welcome party” on Friday night with wonderful food and drinks followed by bingo. Saturday is filled with a variety of events mentioned in other reviews. Our favorite event was the magic show with “magic Jeff”. It was a very entertaining show with lots of audience interaction, the magician is VERY talented and funny! It was a perfect show for young and old alike… A must see! Way to go Cragun’s, keep up the good work!!

We had a group of women go to Craguns to golf. Everything about the hotel was great. We had the ALL inclusive- golf, breakfast, and dinner. The staff were unbelievable-- very helpful, friendly. The rooms were quite large and very clean-- cleaning staff did a great job. We had our Suppers at the Legacy course Restaurant-- Delicious food and great service. We cannot say enough good things about the hotel. The GOLF was great-- Course was in great shape (second day they airated one course) not as great but Bobby's was in great shape!! Staff at the golf course were excellent (friendly, helpful and caring.)

Excellent resort Craguns has that old time resort feel with all the modern conveniences. This resort is also Family owned & you see Dutch & Irma there working & welcoming ! The Staff is Excellent & just get acquainted with the resort & site layout
is an Adventure in itself. A fun Adventure & the kids never run
out of things to do! A full service marina. Staff again is Excellent.

This was our 20th year staying at Cragun's with our family. It's an excellent family resort. We have enjoyed every year that we have been there. Our children were 2, 8, and 10 when we started going, and they still want to vacation there with us, along with their spouses and children.

The resort is awesome: great sandy beaches, outdoor and indoor pool, several great places to eat, beautiful area to walk and play golf, and friendly employees. Every evening they plan activities for the families: beach movie, campfires, animal show, bingo, magician, family survivor, and horsedrawn trolley to name a few. Plus you are able to rent several different watercrafts or boats, and they offer fishing seminars and many other things.

Dutch and Erma Cragun have created a wonderful vacation resort for everyone to enjoy from the young to the old. We highly recommend their resort!

  • Liked — Great area to just relax or for family vacations.

Wanting to get away for a winter vacation turned out to be not very relaxing.

When we first checked in I thought the staff was going to be more than helpful, I was impressed until I got to the room. It was very outdated. The bed was so hard my back ached after the seconed night. We wanted to go on a sleigh ride, and the brochure said to call the front desk and they will set it up. When I did they had no idea what I was talking about. After 10 min. on hold they gave me a number to call my self. For the ammount we payed I expected a lot more! And the resturant was way over priced.

We traveled to Craguns for just one night with extended family and one child. The setting is very beautiful but the place is badly in need of some updates if they plan to continue to attract guests at these prices. Our "Lakeside Fireplace Room" was fairly large and had decent beds but the furnishings are all outdated and shabby. The "deck" was way too small to actually sit and relax on. The common area was musty and stinky with stained carpet. We also struggled to find convenient food and drink options. Want a quick snack or a drink while playing at the beach? Prepare to hike to the lodge and navigate a labyrinth of stairs (if you can find them) or wait for a full service restaurant to prepare something. They need an informal bar/grill/vending area near the beach activities. That said, the service was generally good and the staff helpful. It would be a loss of a great MN resort site if Craguns does not recognize the need to invest some money in this place. It will not be around long otherwise.
