I stayed overnight at this hotel for a business meeting. I will admit my bias: I don't like the Marriott chain. I liked this one less than most. Where shall I begin?
Meeting food - worse than usual Marriott food. Borderline inedible. Found out they were charging $16/head for snacks, which were waxy cookies, ice cream bars, and NO DRINKS. The coffee had floaties in it and so did the hot water - and the floaties were NOT coffee grounds.
Hotel layout - very old, cobbled together, confusing, multiple elevators that did not have common call buttons so you just pushed all the buttons and got on the first one that arrived.
Service - not bad. They let me check in REALLY early.
Rooms - Moderately comfortable, but smelled funny. Had the kind of bathroom where you have to stand behind the toilet to close the door. I found a bug in my ice bucket.
Business facilities - BAD. Charged $10 for high speed internet (which required a cord!!) and the service wasn't for a 24 hour period, it was for a given date, so when I woke up in the morning my service was expired and it wanted to charge me again.
Bar - blah. Poor beer selection, so I was stuck with Miller Lite. In a bottle.
The hotel was right across from the MOA but I'm not sure you could have walked there - lots of roads and Jersey barriers in the way. It was not especially close to the hotel, but I think that's the MSP layout and not the hotel's fault. I had no problems with the shuttle.
They did have a little convenience store in the lobby which was nice, and not overpriced. They also had ducks in the courtyard - they had set out a little plastic kiddie pool for the ducks to swim in, which I though was a very cute, kind, human thing for them to do.
That said, if you can find something else in the area, stay there.
