“Sooooooo comfy”

Marriott Minneapolis Airport

Well, I did feel since I didn't book through them I wasn't put in a good location at the hotel itself. But I digress....we went up for Hannah Montana concert and this hotel was close to MOA....walking distance even. The beds were soooooo comfy, pool was small but nice, whirlpool great. Food onsite was expensive, so we went elsewhere to eat. Plenty of places to eat around there. All in all I'd stay again but book through them.

“Great hotel!”

Marriott Minneapolis Airport

We checked into the hotel after a long day of traveling and to my surprise the check-in went really smooth and without any troubles.

The hotel room had a nice decor with a work desk, couch and balcony. The bed was the best part of the stay because it was so comfortable. We also had some chocolate truffles waiting for us on our bed which was a nice touch.

The bathroom was averaged sized. The shower was curved to provide extra room. The amenities included Bath and Body Work products. The vanity was average sized and what was nice was that there was an extra counter top outside the bathroom with a mirror which is helpful when there are more than one people in the room getting ready.

I did not check out the other amenities at the hotel such as the restaurant or pool area. The internet access was $9.95/day. It seems the nicer the hotel the more they charge for the extra amenities that should be complimentary. This wasn't a big deal because we were too tired to fire up the laptop anyway.

I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to the business travelers that I book rooms for in the MSP area. As long as Marriott continues to offer the Famtastic program I will continue to stay at their properties and recommend them to my travelers! Gotta love Marriott!

“Very good experience!”

My husband and I attended a wedding held at the Marriott and stayed the night in a non-smoking King Bed room on the second floor. We were very happy with the cleanliness of room and the view. The staff of the Marriott hotel were so friendly! Whenever we met an employee or a memeber of the cleaning staff in passing, they would say "hello!" or ask "how are you today?" Overall, it was a very nice stay and I would stay here again!

“Enjoyed our stay here”

Marriott Minneapolis Airport

Jul 12, 2007

We stayed here for four nights just after the fourth of July holiday. My brother-in-law negotiated a rate of $99 a night, and when the reunion was over we all agreed that this Marriott turned out to be a great choice for our little group. It wasn't luxurious or formal, but it was certainly comfortable for several families with children; plus the great staff made up for any quirks.

Our room was spacious, with a couch (sofabed?), desk, chair, coffeepot, ironing board/iron, and hair dryer (no fridge, alas). But the best part was the king-sized BED. It was very plush, with down pillows and a light down cover, and it conformed nicely to the back, so great when you've been sitting on a plane for hours... after sleeping on it for four nights, my husband and I decided we'd found the replacement for our old mattress at home, and I shoved the Marriott catalog into my suitcase to take home. The room did have some quirks, though- the ceiling had this wacky waffle pattern (see picture), and although the floor-to-ceiling glass door had a nice view of the large courtyard, it couldn't be opened more than an inch. It almost seemed as if the room had been designed to have a balcony, but there wasn't one, so the door must be kept shut. Strange, but the room was still very comfortable (and did I mention the BED?)

The lobby area is pleasant, leading into a long hallway with many places for groups to sit and converse, ending at the restaurant and then the bar. (The staff at the bar was particularly friendly and accommodating, and by the third day they started dragging tables together as soon as our group walked in). There are four floors of rooms above the lobby floor, and yes the word 'maze' does come to mind- hang on to your map. Past the bar is a very pleasant indoor pool and whirlpool area, and beyond that there are two courtyards with lots of seating. There is surprisingly little noise from the airport nearby. The Mall of America is just across the street from the hotel, but it's a very wide, busy street followed by Ikea and then a large dirt parking lot, so consider driving or taking the shuttle. The small business center (3 computers) has a computer set up just for airline check-in- very handy.

With the pool and seating areas, we all enjoyed hanging out here for a few days. One of the staff also recommended this great Italian restaurant called Ciao Bella, a few miles from the hotel (pasta, grilled meats, fish, salads). Definitely worth going if you have a car. The hotel has easy access to a major highway, 494, via 24th avenue.

“Expensive for the service and amenities”

The Marriott Airport hotel in Bloomington is located VERY close to the Mall of America, just across the street in fact. It is very east to get to as well. It was very well sound proofed as well... I was scared being so close to the airport that I would be hearing jets all night but the room was very quiet.

As for amenities though, this hotel is very minimal. There were no refrigerators in the rooms and only a small coffee pot was available. The room was clean but very cramped. We had 2 double beds in the room and once we had our luggage in the room it took all we could do to move around. The beds were not very comfortable in my opinion. They had down pillows but I am not a fan of down and they were very thin. I used 3 pillows just to be comfortable. The shower was also a little strange... it was more like a rain style shower head and so the water pressure seemed very low. It was hard to rinse shampoo out with such low pressure.

The staff was very friendly and gave good directions and such.

Overall though, for the price of the nightly stay I have stayed at much nicer hotels with many more amenities such as free breakfast, refrigerators, etc for far less (I don't even travel much and I have still had better places to stay). I feel the only thing this hotel has going for it is the location being so close to the Mall of America. There are many more hotels just as close though and I will stay at one of them the next time I visit.
