“Not Impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2007

We attended a conference in the Minneapolis area from Sept 1 - Sept. 8. When we arrived the room was dirty and continued to be that way during that week's stay .The windows and mirrors through-out the room were fingered streaked and cloudy, the dust in the corners had built up over a period of time, the lamp shade on one side of the bed was torn and coming apart, the air vent filter had not been changed for some months, the rugs and furniture had many spots, but the worst part was the bathroom, the floor had not been washed when we arrived and for three days after we arrived, with hairs shoe marks, pills and dust, it was obvious that the glasses we used were just wiped out instead of being replaced, management was told, numerous times, and seemed concerned, tried to make the following days better, but unless the cleaning staff is monotiored on a daily basis by management , we believe that it will continue. The Hilton has a very nice building and the staff behind the desk, restaurant, & bellman were what we would have wanted and expected for the price that is charged. Will not return, nor recommend.

This hotel is just average. The rooms could use a good cleaning for sure. There was dirt in the sink and the toilet needed flushing, so that grossed me out.

The bellstaff isn't too good at managing packages. I had something sent to me and they claimed they didn't have it. Meanwhile, it was sitting in their backroom--they just overlooked it. They insisted I was wrong...I didn't appreciate it.

If you need a hotel close to the airport or the Mall of America this is a good choice. Other than that, this hotel is just average.

The hotel was very convenient to the airport and to Mall of America. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel runs shuttles to the airport twice every hour and to Mall of America once every hour. There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel with a nice menu. Breakfast is expensive. We only ran into 2 problems during our 3 night stay.
First, I am allergic to down bedding, and the comforters were down. It took 2 phone calls and several hours to get replacement bedding, a blanket. Every day when the bed was remade, the down comforter went back on the bed and had to be removed each night.
Second, one of the shuttle drivers that we had during our stay was extremely unpleasant. He acted as if it was an inconvenience that he had to pick up guests at the Mall of America (despite the fact that it is a free service and one of the reasons the hotel is so convenient). During our entire ride he was on his walkie-talkie talking to someone back at the hotel. They were complaining about pilots and flight crews that stay at the hotel. (I'm sure that if he had been transporting pilots, he would have been complaining about tourists!)
Other than those two problems, our stay was very pleasant. We had room service one night, and the food was wonderful. I would stay here again.

I was a little concerned about the Hilton Airport when making my reservations. The cost was a little higher than I wanted to pay at the time. Shortly after my Hotel Shuttle picked me up from the airport I knew that it was going to be a great week. The hotel shuttle driver, I think his name was Pat, was outstanding! I got to the hotel around noon to check in, and they had my room ready. The employees at the front desk were extremely nice and pleasent to talk to. They gave me the information on my conference, Mall information and shuttle times so I don't miss a thing. Got to my room on the 11th floor and opened my curtains - the view was priceless! The room was spotlessly clean and the maids were always nice (I stayed for a week). The food in the restaurant is not ordinary "hotel food", they had a special sign about the Chef in the hotel and he has been there for a while. His food was amazing and the staff in the restaurant, especially Carol were always pleasent to talk to! I travel alot and it is hard to find nice hotels with great people, this was truly one of them. I was not upset about the price... it was clearly worth it!

I stayed here on business the week of Aug 6, 2007. First this Hilton is in a great location to the airport and Mall of America. The room was also clean and had a great view of the forest preserve. They also offer free parking. One downside is that the Exec Level breakfast room was super crowded. It was hard to find a seat for breakfast. Other than that two thumbs up for this HIlton.

The hotel is close to the Mall of America, freeways, and the airport, yet our room was quiet. We were initially given the wrong room yet the staff was quick to make the appropriate changes. Our room was your average Hilton room, nothing over the top, but it was clean. Breakfast was also on par with the room, the buffet items were underwhelming, the fruit and cooked to order items were good. The hotel was what I expected, good, not great but for the price it was the easily the best deal in the area. I would stay here again!

Had a fabulous time Christmas Shopping and staying at the Hilton. The room was fine: the beds extremely comfortable : the toiletries in the bathroom gorgeous and the staff just lived up to being "Minneapolis Nice". Breakfast was excellent and the staff just couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Nothing was a problem.

Even the domestic staff were wonderful in allowing us the use of their vacuum to take advantage of the vaccum bags we had bought to compress our luggage!!! Well, we were over from Scotland to Shop and that's exactly what we did. Boy did the front desk staff have a laugh when we were checking out as we took up a whole trolly just for 2 of us.

The shuttle service was fab and on occassions we would just get dropped at the bottom of the drive and walk along to the Mall of America if we were too early for the shops.

Every one of the staff made us feel so special and make this trip memorable from the moment the door opened into the hotel untill we unfortunately had to return home.

Girls - splash out and indulge in booking this hotel for your shopping trips.
