“Has some issues”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014 via mobile

We arrived at the hotel early and our room was not clean yet. Since we had a grumpy toddler with us (3 hour drive to the hotel) the said they could upgrade us to a whirlpool suite for free. Score. Well...within 5 minutes of being in the room my son ripped the spout right off the whirlpool. It was hardly attached. We later found out that the hot water handle wasn't attached either. We told guest services and they sent someone up to fix it. In other words, they taped a note to it saying not to push or pull on it. Try telling my toddler that. It wouldn't be such an issue except for the fact that none of the doors actually latched closed. We had to block the door with our pack-and-play. My son then worked his way behind the dresser in the bedroom, where he finds a chicken bone, a straw. When searching for a lost toy car under the couch we found a Starburst and a Red Vine. We are pretty laid back people so we let this all fly. Then I found what looked like mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. All that said, here are the pros...quite, service was great, breakfast was pretty good, atrium area was a lot of fun for my son to run around in, our room was very spacious, the pool area as nice but the pool was too cold, not far from the Mall of America or the airport. I would stay here again but the place needs some major TLC.

I stayed here for one night on a trip for work. It is a standard Embassy Suites, which means it is better than a lot of hotels. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is good. The location has easy access to the highway, airport, and the mall. It's a nice hotel.

Very clean property and wonderful happy hour and made to order breakfast. Easy to find and conveniently located to area attractions. Also has shuttle to MOA. Pool is a little small and they sometimes don't keep the towels stocked in the pool area regularly but overall I would highly recommend the property!

Excellent place to stay. Breakfast was awesome! Stayed with 3 small children and it was perfect for our family. Great location - 5 mins from Mall of America, 15 minutes from Children's Museaum - good interestate access!

Had wanted to stay next to the Mall of America with Hilton Honors but a change in our plans changed the availability. This Embassy Suites had a couple of rooms left so we took it. Pleasantly surprised. Great service (though they seemed a little stressed due to the full hotel). Only two rooms left and the one they put us in first smelled like a Marlboro testing lab so they moved us to the other room. This is significant because my daughter has asthma and allergies and would have reacted but the front desk ladies took the time to come up, check out both rooms and swap out the keys - all with a great, cheerful attitude. Much appreciated. Breakfast was very good, cooked to order eggs and lots of other choices. Very convenient location. Easy to get to airport, Mall of America and interstate. Kudos to Embassy Suites and Hilton for maintaining consistency in service. Only negative (for informational purposes) - pillows were terrible and fold out sofa was uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is non-smoking even if it's labeled as such (some people break the rules). A...

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend. All I all, it was a decent hotel. However, there were errors with our reservation. When the reservation was made, it was requested that we be on the top floor. This did not happen and we were unable to get one.

The breaksfast was sub par. We got there right at the start and the hashbrowns, bacon, and eggs were ice cold. Now the evening manager's reception...we were supposed to get free drinks of our choice. There were very limited free drinks to choose from (mainly beer, wine, and margarita on the rocks). Also, the manager never came out. I've stayed at other Embassy Suites and at those, it was a full service bar with any drinks to choose from at the manager's reception. Also, the manager on duty personally made an appearance and asked each guest how there stay is so far. I expected the same with this one.

The mid-day and afternoon management were outstanding! The desk manager on duty (Dana) when we checked out was far from outstanding. We walked up to the counter and he said without a smile in a very monotone voice, "Yes?" I said, "We would like to check out." He replied, "Room number." I told him our room number. About 3 minutes later he handed us our check-out paperwork without saying a word. Never once did he ask how our stay was, Thank us, or even smile.

This hotel was obviously not up to the Embassy Suites standards they typically demand. If you are in the area and need a place to stay, stay here only if there are no other decent hotels with availability.
