There really didn't seem to be any management oversight or much of a staff presence throughout our 4-night stay. When we arrived, 45 minutes after check-in started, we were told that our request for a quiet, top floor room away from the elevator couldn't be honored for probably an hour because it was a "special request". (It was very apparent that no one had even looked at our reservation until we arrived.) If we wanted an immediate check-in, we would have had to have taken a room on the 7th floor, right by the elevator. After about 1/2 hour, we finally got checked into a corner room, 2nd floor from the top. However, it had no bedspreads on the 2 double beds and no bedding for the sofa sleeper; nor did it have any directions for internet access even though we'd paid for it. We had to contact the front desk for all of these items.
I agree with others' assessment that the snacks during the social "hour" were pretty lame; tortilla chips and salsa and a pretzel mix. I've never seen such a cheap spread at an Embassy Suites. It was nice, however, that they would allow each person to get 2 drinks at a time, rather than wait in line each time.
There was a prenuptual dinner in the banquet area on Friday night which wasn't bothersome but it was annoying whent they set up a cocktail hour for the wedding reception guests in the public atrium on Saturday night, beginning at 9:00 pm. This seemed especially rude and inconsiderate to hotel guests whose rooms bordered this area and were treated to the echoing conversations of the wedding guests. I have never experienced a private event like this being held in this space.
Two of the three times we used the pool, we had to walk down the hall to get towels out of a housekeeing cart; there were none in the pool.
And one of my biggest issues is, as others have mentioned, there was no oversight of guests who were being nuisances. Huge groups would check into a single room and let their kids run throughout the atrium. For people like my husband and I, who gave our grandkids the bedroom and we slept on the sofa sleeper, this was very loud and annoying. We slept with earplugs in and a fan turned on to block out the noise.
We honestly just didn't see "who was minding the store". Apparently no one. We won't be back.
I honestly don't know how you would get a good room here.
