I've stayed at this location several times over the last 10 years.
It has gone downhill, and next time we will be staying at the ES
closer to the MOA. We had no big issues, just lots of little
annoyances that speak to the quality of management.
We arrived at 5pm. There was a wedding in progress when when arrive
and the parking lot was full so we ended up in an adjacent parking lot.
Not a big deal but this caused us to enter through a rear entrance.
This meant walking past the dumpster area with quite a bit of garbage
lying in the lot around the area. This back hallway had 3 laundry baskets
in the way. Again, not a big deal but this doesn't indicate a well managed hotel.
The hall outside our room was dirty and had not been vacuumed.
There were still dirty dishes on the floor outside some rooms including
the one I had just been assigned.
Our room itself was clean and comfortable. There was only one
available outlet near the two beds for a cpap. There was a separate
vanity in the bedroom which included a sink. That area had 2 more
electrical outlets which was quite useful.
The microwave, fridge, and both TVs worked. It's a small thing but there
is only one box of facial tissue and it's in the bedroom. If you have
the bedroom door closed you cannot reach the bathroom or the facial tissue.
Some reviews have noted that the elevators are very slow. This is true,
and you should be aware that there is apparently no service elevator.
That means not only are the guests using them, so are the housekeeping
and room service staff. Be prepared to wait 3-5 minutes for an elevator.
The managers reception was very disappointing.
Snacks were fine consisting of a snack mix, hummus, and chips/salsa.
The bad part is there was only one surly bartender. So, it was a ten
minute wait to get two beers from someone who clearly didn't want to
There was soda available during the managers reception from a self
serve machine. Unfortunately there was no ice in the machine.
Across the table area there was an ice water container but all the
water was gone. You could wait a few minutes until some of the ice
Later that evening while my family was enjoying the pool I went to get
a drink from the bar. The bartender in the actual bar was great.
I didn't get her name, but she was the single WOW factor at the hotel.
She was prompt, friendly and helpful!
The breakfast was fine, typical fare and as usual more crowded the later you go.
There isn't enough seating in the breakfast area, so after 9am many people were
eating in the lobby area or at tables in the bar.
For HHonors members: The guy at check-in was not wearing a name tag and said
nothing about my being a Silver HHonors member. Personally I don't care, but
others of higher honors status may, and it's one of the questions that Hilton
asks on the surveys they send out.
Elevators are incredibly slow, so a lower floor room is often faster by taking the stairs.
