Don't expect much from the front staff. Among the 8+ times I have stayed here, they have been rude, unhelpful or just plain absent. The last time we came here, we had to wait nearly two hours for someone to show up at the front desk.
I have been in worse looking/smelling rooms, but they aren't great. A few stays ago there were two large pizza boxes and some chicken wings around the room in random places. The furniture is filthy, along with the carpet and shower. Sheets were crisp and clean and so were the pillows (as far as we could see, at least). The usual mildew funk existed, but was cured by A/C and the windows opening. Bugs scurrying around as well. The "breakfast" is nothing to look forward to. Just some dry cereal, possibly expired milk, packaged honey buns, and if you're lucky, you'll get the last lukewarm cup of coffee. If you're on the 1st or 2nd floor, do not expect to get any sleep. There are children and adults literally running around the halls at all hours of the night, do
Upside: cheap, free wifi, convenient location, safer than the other hotels of the same value off of 28th street. That's about it.
