“Delicious chocolate and welcoming innkeepers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

The Cocoa Cottage B and B is a great place to rest and relax. There are books about chocolate throughout the house for guests to read, a lovely sunny porch and outdoor patio, as well as a common area with comfortable chairs. The chocolate theme is carried throughout the house with chocolate memorabilia and delicious chocolate treats. The evening reception and breakfast both include wonderful, gourmet food, and include chocolate, of course! Larry and Lisa are welcoming and friendly hosts and make guests feel like friends. We stayed in the ghiradelli room, which features an enormous bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower. Chocolates on the pillow at night and complimentary port before bed. The bed was wonderfully comfortable.

This place is wonderful! Cozy and very clean and the hosts are tops! You need to go! The food was to die for and Larry made us feel very welcome. I hope next time we visit we get to see Lisa more. My freinds and I had a great time!

If you want a warm and cozy B&B experience, whose owners really care about the quality of your stay, you need to check out Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast. The amazingly restored Arts and Crafts style home is superbly clean and offers many places to read, relax and savor the furnishings and interior environment. Just a stones throw away is a playhouse and a short walk down a curving wildflower lined path is a fantastic restaurant on White Lake. Looking for a beach or other local attractions? Larry can point you in the right direction for the best of whatever venue you are looking for. In short, his hospitality was awesome. My wife and I have specific dietary restrictions and Larry was able to cheerfully meet them when other Bed & Breakfast locations turned us away. So if you are looking for a food allergy friendly Michigan Bed and Breakfast that is near wonderful beaches, great cycling trails and want immaculate accommodations, engaged friendly owners who care about your comfort, enjoyment and possess superb culinary skills, this is the place for you.

My sister and I enjoyed our all-too-brief stay the the Chocolate Cottage in Whitehall, Michigan. The experience was delightful. Larry and Lisa are welcoming but not intrusive hosts.
The house is beautifully restored mission-style, and our room was charming and comfortable, including chocolates and port. We spent a relaxing hour before dinner reading in the sunroom, enjoying the golden light of late afternoon.
Our restful night's sleep was followed by an amazing gourmet breakfast served on the sunlit patio, where we conversed with fellow guests about gardening and theater.
The "3 'C's" - charm, comfort and chocolate are hallmarks of this B&B.

Our stay at Cocoa Cottage was Perfect! No detail was overlooked and Larry and Lisa, the Innkeepers, extended themselves to provide a warm and inviting stay. The Cottage is charming and as clean and comfortable as a place can be! It has been beautifully restored with attention to detail. Breakfast, out on the patio, was relaxing and ellegantly delicious! Cocoa Cottage is in the heart of Whitehall and the Village is a great place to walk and explore. We are planning or returning.

This was my first trip there. The Cottage is beautiful. My favorite places in the common area are the porch and patio. The patio is lite with beautiful white lights at night. The Bed and Breakfast is close to a lot of outdoor activities. I stayed in the Godiva room. I loved sleeping in the comfy bed with the ceiling fan on. Each night a delicious chocolate was left on the my pillow with a lovely note from Larry and Lisa. Loved the morning breakfast, especially the Larry’s Cottage Eggs, the peaches with jam, fresh fruit, and the sweet bread with fudge sauce. The Bed and Breakfast is close to a lot of outdoor activities. There is a walking trail a few feet from the Cottage that takes you through the city by the shoreline. The state parks nearby Hart-Montague Bicycle Trail State Park and Pioneer State Park have a lot of entertaining activities. I drove into Pentwater and that was another bouns.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Cadbury room and I could not hear my neigbor. It was nice and peaceful.
