What a wonderful bed and breakfast! A+ in every aspect!
Our first floor room (the oriole's nest) was immaculate, well furnished, with nice linens and a fabulous bathroom - probably the best bathroom we've seen in many, many b & b's. It had a large (but not too large) whirlpool tub, a two-person shower with a great showerhead and water pressure, plush robes and many nice toiletries. Housekeeping here is obviously a top priority, as everything was perfect.
The breakfasts were healthy and luxurious - fresh local fruit, a homemade pastry, an egg/meat/vegetable tart, warm homemade bread & jam, fresh-squeezed juice - all served in a large, beautiful, and well-appointed dining room. Since the inn only has 3 guest rooms, the group is small and pleasant. Coffee and tea are available anytime in the dining room.
The living room has comfortable seating, a fireplace, and interesting books and art. The garden is lovely, with pleasant seating and a fishpond. We had a nice place to park our bikes, as we were riding on the Hart-Montague Trail (only a few minutes' ride from the b &b). The inn is on a side street, so it's very quiet.
The innkeepers were just wonderful: helpful, flexible, warm and friendly but not intrusive, genuinely interesting and nice people. They helped us get tickets for a play at the local theater, recommended restaurants and little shops, and made everyone feel welcome, including our friends who were staying at another b & b nearby.
I would highly recommend A Finch Nest for couples or singles. It's quietly luxurious, and we felt very much at home there. We do plan to return!
