We blocked some rooms here for our wedding. Rooms were clean and neat, it is close to downtown, and is one of the few TC hotels that allow Saturday check-in during the summer. Those are about the only nice things I can say about this hotel. Despite what other reviewers say this hotel has not been updated in a long time - lobby has 90's décor and stains on the carpet. The restaurant in the lobby is nothing special. The club and bar on the main floor attracts a questionable crowd. Front desk staff forgot to hand out Welcome bags to our guests. Stay at the Park Place instead if you can swing it.

I went up with my wife and another couple for a weekend vacation. I had a double bed in my room and for the first time in my life I was refused room with the bed I wanted. I actually had purchased two rooms there at the hotel, one for myself and another for my guests. Yet I was told that because my purchase was made over the internet I was not entitled to the same consideration as other guests. My key card did not work. When I went to return it the clerk started grilling me on whether I did something wrong such as put it near a magnet.

The Hotel location is good near downtown and directly on the lake. The exterior of the hotel looks great, yet the inside is old. The management is aware of this and has signs indicating that they will undergo renovation in 2013.

My daughter won two free nights so we started christmas break there. First off, needs updating badly, awesome location, a lot of disarray we were told that there is new ownership.. Kids ate for free, thats cool, pool had so much chloine that swimming suits still smelled after washing them at home. Hot tub was not hot and jets did not work, sauna didnt work either... I could nit justify soending money here.. Especially summer rates... But again i have a travel agenda, if its family its one thing and a hockey weekend is another...

This place was a disappointment. We came here for a weekend getaway, and had a great time in the city until we had to deal with the hotel. This place is from the 70s-- no fridge, no microwave in the rooms-- just a standard hotel room from years gone by. Ok, I decided to head to the vending machine to get a snack. Out of order. Next floor. Nothing in it worth buying.
At 1AM, I decided to go to bed, but who can sleep? There is a party on my floor (in the hall) and a dance club below us. I asked the front desk if they could do anything, but she said that they make more money in the dance club than the hotel. So..... why have a hotel where people are trying to sleep?
If you have a family or want sleep after 1AM, Never EVER stay here. It's ridiculous.
