What a nice, comfortable and cozy bed and breakfast place. Nature abounds out the windows and all around the property. If you want to just kick back and relax, this is the place to be. Lake Michigan is just a few steps off the porch, and hiking trails through the woods are in the neighborhood.
I was there with a group of individuals for a board retreat, but in our off hours, we were free to do what we wanted. I love cooking, and was given the opportunity to help out in the kitchen. Breakfast was a delicious harty meal prepared by our host Bob. Our dinner was a potluck prepared by all of us, and we were given the run of the kitchen.
Rooms are all different types and sizes, so when you call to make your reservation just ask what they recommend. There is a huge dining room and living room area with a giant stone fireplace. A great napping place can be found in front of the fire or better yet, it is a grand place to cozy up with a book and a glass of wine.
Vineyards are numerous out on the Old Mission Penninsula, and making the tour during the weekend to a few of them is a fun activity. It is about 20 miles from Traverse City.
If you are looking for a posh hotel, this isn't the place. But it is clean and cozy and a great place to escape to and relax, chill out, explore nature, listen to the wind in the trees or play in the water during the summer months. The innkeepers (Bob and Sally) are great folks who will do their best to make your stay one to remember and make you want to come back.
Great Bed and Breakfast place and a Green Inn.
