“A wonderful find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We found online and decided to try one night with the thought of returning In the summer. We stayed in the lower floor of the Spring Hill Suite. The room was unbelievable. A great attention to detail. Tastefully decorated with a lot of unique features and hand crafted items. The linens were gorgeous the bathroom shower was hand crafted stone and tile. One owner does all the work on the property and most of the railings inside and outside the building are made from logs and branches from the grounds. The setting is great, right on the Boardman river with sweeping views. Only a 10 minute drive to Traverse City and all it has to offer. The breakfast was as described by others, simple but tasty and wonderfully presented. Chatting with Brian over breakfast and learning the history of the property was great. We will definitely return for a longer stay. You can't go wrong here.

“Restful beautiful setting just outside Traverse City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

We visited Whispering Waters for two nights and loved the experience. We stayed at the Cabin and could hear the stream. In fact we could see the stream. The loft bedroom allowed us to see the stars at night through the skylights. The property held so many delightful surprises - a horse and two alpacas to admire, tucked away places to sit and read and enjoy the forest or the stream, yummy breakfasts prepared by Brian (one of the innkeepers), nature trails, lots of birds and wild flowers. I loved this place and would love to visit again, maybe in the Fall.

Room Tip: For privacy, pick the Cabin. For more elegance, pick the Spring House. I did not get to see the ro...

“Beautiful, peaceful, lots of little details...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We just got back from a marvelous weekend. The bubbling brook behind our room, the big creek, the walks, and the grounds were beautiful. The room very nice and comfortable. The attention to little details was marvelous. My special meal requirements were handled well, changing from a down pillow, not a problem. The service was great. They have a couple of alpacas, and we were entertained by them one afternoon. We were out of the city lights and had an incredible view of the shooting stars. It was close to everything we wanted but totally serene. The best of both worlds. We'll be back here next time we head to Traverse City

“Absolutely loved this place!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We (husband and I) just recently celebrated our 6 year anniversary here and could not have picked a better place!! We considered a more high-end bed and breakfast in Traverse City and are so thankful they were booked as we would not have had the same experience. As the website describes, as you drive down the long road leading to the main house you are definitely transported from the city to your own personal sanctuary. You are of course surrounded by 42 acres of nature which equals a sense of calm, quietness other than the sounds of nature, and a retreat from the noise of the city. We stayed in the Spring House suite which was tastefully decorated and kept. We absolutely loved the bathroom which featured a two person jacuzzi and the sun porch. The bonus of course is the sounds of the creek/waterfall which runs right behind the room; we kept our windows open 90% of the time we were there just to experience that very sound. We took full advantage of the grounds walking the nature trail, relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi, and sitting out on the river deck (our favorite). This review would not be complete without talking about Brian, our wonderful host. He was such a blessing and made sure our stay was relaxing and carefree. He was available throughout our entire stay and was one of the most accommodating people met!!! We highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you're looking for a getaway with the bonus of having access to the "city" life (if desired). It definitely was a time for the husband and me to reconnect and spend quality time together with no distractions.

“Charming and Delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

We stayed last October for the first time and we are coming back next week. We loved it and will try to return every year. We stayed in the cabin which was so cozy. The skylights in the loft are perfect for star gazing in bed. The property couldn't have been more beautiful. My husband loves to fish and can't wait to fish the river right outside our cabin door. Breakfast was yummy and Brian was the perfect host.
