“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

We came toTraverse City so we could visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes, but wanted to stay somewhere close, yet fun for our 5 year old - so we picked the Great Wolf Lodge. We had a wonderful time. No complaints - everyone was out of their way nice. There is LOTS to do for children here. We spent a lot of our time AT the hotel itself.
We had the loft room - which was nice. One thing I liked about housekeeping was the note they would slip under the door. If they came by and you had a "do not disturb sign" on the knob, they would just slip a note under the crack saying they were by and if you needed service to call. I liked this because I have stayed at other places where they come by once and if there's a "do not disturb" hanging, they never come back and clean.
My only minor complaint was the bad internet connection (which seemed to happen only at night).
We have stayed at one other Great Wolf Lodge (Wisconsin Dells) and loved it, and now this one. I would definitely stay at any of them again!

We booked for a 1 night stay on saturday for 215$ ! This just included lodging and water park. Every other activity is paid . We had fun in water park though, it has around 12-15 attractions. Good for small kids. Nice friendly staff and well maintained . Neverthless we enjoyed our stay except for the big hole in our pockets. We didn;t eat at the resort. In 1 mile distance you get all the food joints you need.

I would rather go to an outdoor theme park for 1/2 the price.Anyways we wanted to go for the experience and conclude you wouldn;t miss much , all that it offers is waterpark and you might as well get it at other cheaper places..

Room Tip: basic room would be good enough since u wont be spending too much time in the room

Aside from a disappointing hotel room we had a wonderful family weekend here. We took our 3 year old and she loved it all. Plenty for her to enjoy in the water park. The quick check in and service friendly staff were definite highlights.
I truly can't believe that for $279 a night we had a practically antique Zenith TV in our Wolf Den Suite. The first four TV stations that came on automatically were loud static...of course we learned this twent minutes after our daughter had fallen asleep.
Dont waste your money on the theme suites- it wasn't as impressive in person. The ladder on the bunk bed was nothing short of dangerous, super narrow and slippery. It's just a bunk with yet another super old TV.
We enjoyed the arcade after hours in the pool, dad, mom and little girl all found things to entertain ourselves. The ice-cream/sweet shop was also a big hit. You really never have to leave the hotel.
W leave.
leave.

We took our 4 year old and 3 month old to Great Wolf and they both had a good time. We got the multilevel room so my husband and I were upstairs with the 3 month old, and my mother in law, 4 year old, and a cousin were downstairs. It worked well so that the baby wasn't kept awake by the 4 year old. We often ate dinner in the hotel restaurant because it was good food, decently priced, and had things my picky 4 year old would eat. We will be going back!
My daughter loved "Scoops" and got her first pedicure as part of our package. My husband and I visited the spa, it was pretty good, I've had better but have for sure had worse experiences.

Many others have reviewed this hotel so will just include some details! The staff was awesome! Every special request, every question, favor anything we ask for all weekend was yes yes yes. They never once said oh no that is against policy or no!

They have installed cabana's in the indoor and outdoor pool areas. This was a great addition and totally worth it. It wasn't crowded and we probably could have found a table to hang out at with but we had two families share the $95 charge(prices vary) it was worth it.

It was a great stay again! Highly recommend it for families of young and older kids... they have something for everyone.

Prices are high for snacks and drinks but just plan on it.. it is what it is.. if you go trying to nickel and dime the trip go someplace else.

One cost saving tip if you are going for a weekend and are early risers... Just go for Sat night. Get there early Saturday you can start using the Waterpark, Arcade, Magi quest early- if your room is not ready, Stay Saturday and then you can use the park all day on Sunday. You can also pay $30 for late check out at 2pm. The kids are wiped out by then anyway.

Highly recommend the story time at 8pm in the lobby and having Wiley deliver Milk and cookies to your room after! Adds so much to the trip for the kids!

Having never been North in Michigan, my family and I planned a trip we hoped would be a fun weekend for our kids. The hotel is easy to find, and check in was painless. The room when we entered was your typical hotel room. Old fashioned "big box" TV's in the rooms was not very impressive. The kids sleep area was not really as desirable as the pictures on the internet made it seem. You would think for the money it cost to go there you would really start updating the rooms.

That being said, the staff is AMAZING. Pleasant, and ready to cater to your every need. They do their best to make you feel welcome, and keep everyone happy. They had a dance party that night of our arrival that had a DJ and even the smallest of children to the teenagers were dancing and having fun.

The hotel is very pricey. Every activity has a fee attached to it, so I would recommend bringing some snacks with you or breakfast items so you don't get stuck with every little thing you need. For example, there is an arcade you have to pay for, activities like painting, but you must pay to participate, a magic adventure that I was not paying for, etc, etc. There was only so much we were willing to pay for on a weekend trip- this was not a family vacation.

The pool and water park did not disappoint. That is the main reason we went and we did have a blast there. There is security so you don't lose your little family members, and careful watching by staff so no kids fall in and drown. There are pool areas appropriate even for the littlest kids. There is enough to do so even the adults can have fun.

All and all we enjoyed the stay, but I would love for them to work on some updates seeing they got plenty of my money all weekend.

We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge for one night and we were lucky enough to get a Wolf Den room. The room was perfect for our needs. The bunk beds were great for our small children. Having the refrigerator in our room was great as well. The water park provided hours of entertainment for our family. The property remains well maintained and is as great as it was the first time we visited back in 2009. Can't wait to go back!
