“Great for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

If your looking for the Holiday in you won't find it here. You will find
a very good price on a comfortable room. It was quiet, beds were
great, and staff was very kind and helpful. There is no breakfast
or coffee in the room, but for $39.00 on weekdays I will settle for just comfortable and quiet. I will be going back again.

On main drag, near family focused spot like Pirates Cove, but this place is over-priced with little to offer. Initial attempt to reserve was met by "we have no openings"; minutes later, I had a reservation by contacting the Motel 6 800 number.

Avoid the pool (over chlorinated and disgusting tiles) and hot tub. Rooms are very spartan. Old TV sets, bad wireless connection, no carpeting - a cross between a dorm room and a cell. Nothing good to say about this place at all!

Room Tip: Good rooms do not exist at this location.

From start to finish... very bad experience. Besides loosing our reservation (name spelled wrong, even though we spelled it to them); no coffee in the room...only 2 towels in the room (for four people); at first they refused to bring towels, and they shorted us towels the next day again... No closet, only one small pillow per person, no extra blankets, no tissues. The room had a peculiar odor. No continental breakfast available here...The owner was very rude and had no people skills.

This was the worst motel we have ever stayed at...we would have been better off (and happier) staying in the car...

Room Tip: Do not stay there...pay $10 more and stay at a different hotel; it is worth it!

My friend and I stayed here recently in September due to the extremely low rates. The price could not be beat so I decided to look past the bad reviews since there were also a lot of good ones, and give it a shot. First of all, good luck trying to get any sleep- there is no carpet in the rooms and you hear everything! People talking in the hallways, people talking in the room above you, every door that closes, and all the cars in the parking lot. The beds are horrible, solid as a rock. The bed sheets and comforters are covered in stains and the bathroom was dirty as well. If I could take it back, I would gladly have paid more money to stay elsewhere. We were scheduled to stay 2 nights but our first was so bad that we complained and checked out a day early with a refund for the night that we did not stay yet. At the counter there was another person with the same complaints also wanting a refund so I assume this is a regular occurance. We moved our plans around and were able to book a room with a higher rate in Ann arbor that was much more comfortable. I would never reccomend this hotel to a friend despite its low rates.

Room Tip: Don't be lured in by the remodel, it's still a bad hotel.

I stayed here in May 2012 while visiting Traverse City. This was one of the nicer Motel 6's that I've stayed in, and I was very pleased. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and had been recently remodeled. It is near several of the beaches and has restaurants nearby.

My only two minor issues: The motel is located several miles from downtown Traverse City, which was a bit of a surprise to me. Also, parking was a bit limited due to several moving trucks while I was there.

I stayed one night while in town visiting friends. I picked this hoel since it was 40 dollers cheaper than all the others in the same area. The location was great, near the water and other hotels. The pool and hot tub where nice and the lady at the desk was super nice. The rooms had no carpet but I liked it and it was very clean and up dated. The beds and pillows where average but all in all a good place to stay on a budget. No breakfeast though.

This is not your average Motel 6, it is in a better location than usual and although on a main road the building is at right angles to the road making it relatively quiet.
My room (219) was clean and basic but very comfortable as was the bed and I slept soundly, without earplugs on both nights of my stay.
It is convenient to local restaurants within easy walking distance and handily placed for a fun park nearby (not that I sampled that).
I'd pick this Motel again if ever in this area.
