“Very happy. Quite adequate.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

We're very particular and expect a well maintained property, not one that's worn. Cambria has clean, fresh rooms with good air quality and a spotless bathroom. We were greeted by intelligent, efficient and warm desk staff and enjoyed the peace and quiet during the night. Our parking lot side room curtains and shade met the end of track with a gap so we were awakened by the morning light. Nice espresso bar and patio. All around nice hotel.

...does it all match the price?
To be fair, we don't usually stay at hotels in resort towns- normally we're in a time-share so we're not use to the in-season prices. My husband thought this was a bit pricey for what he experienced.
This hotel is clean, quiet and yes- the shuttle is nice- but we walked too - it's about 1.5 miles from the center of town.
Clean, classy furnishings- but our sofa and pillows in the sitting area had stains.
Bed was fine but bedding wasn't top-notch.
The bathroom sink was classy- and the open shower was just fine- but if you're tall, don't set the shower head too high or the room gets wet.
Small fridge and microwave with nice counter space.
Two tvs in the room.
Morning paper, nice fitness area, small indoor pool, free wifi, breakfast buffet was plentiful and made-to-order omelets were great.
Beautiful lobby area, bar and lounge. Friendly staff, especially our shuttle driver.

This is a great hotel, very clean, new, very attractive. This place is fairly new and it show, compare to other hotel in TC I would say this is the best, you do feel that you are in an upscale place. Compare to others such as the Park Place or the Grand Traverse resort & spa I would choose this place hand down....

The room are big and well lay out. The bed are very comfortable and the shower are very spacious. Nice pool and free wifi. Also you do have a mini gym at the location. This hotel has a really nice bar at the entrance of the lobby and also it has small restaurant.

I would say the only drawback its not in downtown, so you will need to drive each time....

The Good: Everything, free wifi, pool, gym,

The Bad: Location 5min drive from Downtown TC

Traverse City is a lovely vacation area. My husband and I have been there several times and stayed at decent hotels. This time we were pleasantly surprised to find Cambria Inn, a truly upscale facility. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their services even included a bus and driver who took us anywhere in town we wanted to go, and when we were ready to return to the hotel, we just called for a pick up. The lobby is very attractive and has a bar; a handsome, modern fireplace; and comfortable seating for visiting. Our suite was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The mattress was of high quality--my husband commented on this. The biggest surprise of all was the excellent food. We plan to return to Traverse City next year and hope we can stay there. Linda B

It was a welcome note at this clean, attractive hotel located near the lake, that transportation was provided. The town is very busy in the summer time so having van transportation provided by the hotel was a surprise treat for us. The meal that we had in the hotel on our second night in town was comparable to a meal in a fine, big city farm to table type restaurant. I had huge driver scallops with a mushroom reduction and fresh sauteed vegetables and my partner had the meatloaf, which he said was better than my home made. While we don't usually do desserts, here we tried the cherry bread pudding and a creme brulee. Both were freshly made with cherries from the area and creme brulee that was just barely set --rich, warm and heavenly.
This combination of an almost new hotel with attentive staff and a fine food restaurant was just what we needed for our vacation in TC

Room Tip: We enjoyed the great free coffee in the lounge in the mornings--it was an upscale brand with several...

We were in Traverse City to visit family and part of our group was fortunate enough to stay at Cambria Suites. The lobby is lovely, you step into a stunning space, very modern, with high ceilings, lots of light, and an incredible fireplace. The front desk staff was polite and efficient, we checked in quickly. The room was very large and extremely clean as other guests have commented.
One thing that sets this hotel apart from other hotels in the area is the food. We ate lunch and dinner there and were impressed by the breadth of the menu and the quality of the food. For lunch I had a salad topped with Ahi Tuna. The tuna was rare, the greens and red pepper were dark, crisp and fresh and it was drizzled with a citrus vinaigrette dressing. It was a delicious. For dinner, I had one of the specials: Walleye Veracruz. It was cooked perfectly and the Veracruz sauce that topped the walleye was composed of fresh tomatoes, olives, capers and olive oil. It was fresh and tangy, an excellent accompaniment to the walleye. It was served with curried rice and freshly grilled red pepper, zuchinni and eggplant. One of the other dishes selected was sautéed scallops served in a light creamy sauce with mushrooms and a touch of sherry. In the center of the plate there was a small wedge of crispy puff pastry which was exceptional and tied all the flavors together. My friend said that he had never tasted scallops as delicious as those. We chose 2 different desserts and shared them. One was the Crème’ Brulee’ and the other was the Cherry Bread Pudding topped with warm vanilla sauce. Both were fantastic. The service at the restaurant was professional and friendly. I highly recommend that you try the restaurant there, even if you are not staying at the Cambria Suites Hotel.

Just returned from Traverse City, Michigan , where I've gone before to visit family, so I know hotels and area. This time my brother said: you must stay in a fairly new and fantastic hotel, cambria suites. The elegant suite with beautiful furnishings, mini fridge, microwave and gorgeous linens (about 1/5 the price of crummy room in new york last week) in a hotel with a gracious, helpful and friendly staff was too much for this easterner! Then the food....you cannot believe what the chef, Scott Neumann, well known in area, does with scallops, grouper, steaks and meat loaf! This is a 4 star restaurant in the most unlikely city and in a hotel. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Get a suite with separate bedroom and living room (and big living room) as it amazing value. Will sl...
