My family spent two nights at this property for a Christmas week visit to the TC area. I chose it based on its Trip Advisor reviews and found them to be accurate -- the rooms were small but very clean, the beds amazingly comfortable for this price range (the mattress at the $100 Comfort Inn we also stayed at on this trip gave me a backache -- the mattress at the $35 Knights Inn didn't!), the mini-fridge was a bonus for restaurant leftovers and Christmas goodies, the 32-inch flat-screen TVs with a good selection of cable TV channels were a surprise in this price range. Traveling with my wife and two adult children in two rooms, we were a little bummed that they didn't have any adjoining rooms with a door between them (c'mon, folks, how hard would it be to punch a door between 4 or 6 of the rooms?), but that was the only drawback. Free continental breakfast was extremely basic (cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, coffee, milk, OJ) but sufficient to get you started. No coffeemakers in the rooms; if this is crucial, bring your own, but this is a small enough hotel it's about a 30-second walk to the front desk to get some. Front desk and lobby are closed from a little after 11 p.m. to a little before 7 a.m., so plan accordingly. Small outdoor pool in the summer also a bonus in this price range. Free wireless Internet was super-fast, no complaints. Location is ideal for enjoying downtown TC and wine tasting in the Old Mission Peninsula, which is just what we did.
Room Tip: If you're up front near the lobby, close to a busy highway, the room will be loud.
