“Superb lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2010

Four of us had lunch here on 12/27 and were very impressed. All of our food - starters, mains, and desserts - were outstanding. We appreciate the local sourcing, and the creative menu. Look forward to returning when we are in Traverse City, and trying dinner. Highly recommended.

“Excellent meal in a quaint setting. Very happy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2010 via mobile

Well we just got back from the cooks house. We had arugula salad with pine nuts and goat cheese, a cheese sampler plate and the fillet of beef. This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Both my wife and I were a little apprehensive but we left there very very happy. Full meal including desert and appetizers was 117$. Which was right on the mark. Excellent quality.

The place is very small and was full when we left at 9:30pm. It's definitely a unique and interesting dining experience

“Nice Little Gem in TC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2010

Cook's House is great, especially if you eat ourside in the summer. The food is excellent with an interesting selection of dishes. Most if not all the food is sourced locally. Chef Eric will come and chat if he's not overwhelmed with cooking--he's a really interesting guy. The restaurant is not allowed to allow customers to bring wine--this should be fixed sometime in 2011. The restaurant is tiny--some might say cozy and some might say cramped. Fantastic resource for Northern Michigan.

“WOW!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2010

Last night's dinner for the five of us was a culinary event! Chef Eric and his staff have perfected the layering of great flavors in all the dishes we tried. From the excellent soup & salads to the grass fed beef & whitefish dishes to desserts, everything was excellent! Can't wait to return!

“Who'd a thunk? A meal like this in Northern Michigan?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2010

While in TC for a wineries and fall color weekend, we had the seven-course tasting menu here, and are we ever glad we did. Best meal we've had in some years. And we've eaten at a few big-name restaurants (French Laundry included). Every course was surprising in some way, even in the sense of what came when (e.g., mixed-green salad for the FIFTH course, AFTER the walleye and beef). No wine here (yet -- I believe their recent move around the corner from the original location is aimed at getting a liquor license), but after a day including a few winery stops, and thoroughly enjoying tthe chef's creations here, we didn't really miss it. Who'd a thunk you could find a meal like this in Northern Michigan?
