“Memories that will last forever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2008

My husband and I visited the Traverse City area for the first time, and decided to drive up the Mission Peninsula; we found the Chateau both through travel info from the local visitor's bureau, AAA, and the web. We were thoroughly impressed. The peninsula is pretty much untouched commercially, and the winery/Chateau is a first class operation. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Our room was perfect-views of both sides of the bay, a balcony, and a huge whirlpool tub. The views from anywhere on this entire property are indescribable, it's simply breathtaking. All the ammenities are things you expect from a five star hotel; the breakfast was delicious as well. The winery is another added bonus-excellent wine, and the tasting is fun-the employees are very well versed on the many selections available. Anyway, can't say enough good things about this property; if we had to pick a minus-it would be that breakfast is at 8:30-if you snooze you lose, and when vacationing, that is a bit early. Other than that, can't wait to go back, just wish it was a closer drive.

This Bed and Breakfast is located on a high hill on the peninsula over looking the vineyards. It was quiet and peaceful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were impressed with our suite and morning breakfast was homemade and wonderful. Our favorite part was setting on the back deck having a glass of wine and watching the sunset.

We were amazed! We came here for our second anniversary - and have decided that this is the only place we want to stay in the future. The staff and facilities were way above our expectations! We were shocked by the gorgeous views, the warm comfortable feeling, the wine, the rooms...everything! We cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We did not have a single complaint. This was the best vacation we have ever taken - even over our honeymoon in Hawaii!!!

My husband and I decided to stay at Chateau Chantal for our first anniversary. We were engaged on Old Mission Peninsula and then got married in Traverse City the year after, so we love the area. This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience, and we were a little hesitant. We had been to the tasting room at the Chateau before and loved the views (and the wines), so we thought we would give it a try. Not only did they exceed our expectations, but it was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing weekends we ever had! I can not say enough about the beautiful views, which include the gorgeous sunsets over the bays, the rolling hills, and of course the vineyards. The staff and owners at the Chateau are phenomenal, and we could not have asked for better hospitality... both the breakfast and Tapas Tours (which are a must) were fantastic! We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked our same room for next year as we were checking out. There are only a few rooms so they book up almost a year in advance. I highly recommend Chateau Chantal to everyone!

Our stay at the Chateau Chantal was part of our fourth wedding anniverary "celebration" and it was nearly perfect. We stayed in the Merlot suite. Our only criticisms were with the view (slighly marred by the parking lot and dumpsters immediately below the window) and the lack of a small refrigerator in the room. Since the Chateau is in the heart of Michigan's wine country, I think it should be nearly a requirement with so many whites and light red from which to choose!

The breakfasts were also nearly flawless. The service was very attentive in an elegant yet relaxed dining room.

The real hidden "gem" of staying here is the after hours access to the tasting room. Guests are allowed unlimited tasting pours of the wines made at the Chateau! Wow! Also, you are treated to a complimentary full glass of your choice for each day you stay. My wife had a great time stepping behind the "bar" and pouring us our tastes. Great fun.

I reccommend the Chateau Chantal for an unforgettable romantic get-away.

This is the second time we've stayed at Chateau Chantal, and we love it. The staff is nice and very accomodating. The after-hours tasting is great. The scenery is second-to-none.

I would definitely recommend staying in the new wing as opposed to the older 3 rooms. The older rooms are definitely nice - but the lack balconies and jacuzzi tubs. The views from every room are simply outstanding.

The tapas tour is a must as well. The wine and food pairings are perfect, and it's great to get a longer tour of the facilities.

The breakfasts were better the first time we were there, when Chris was cooking the meals. This time, the breakfasts were pretty ordinary. Good, but ordinary.

This is my favorite place to stay. We'll be back many times.

This place is a must stop. We stayed in the French Room-- no real view (a small patio) but a huge whirlpool tub with terry robes and wine in the room to enjoy after using it. Guests can sample the wine and hang-out after hours in the tasting room and sit out on the public patio. The breakfast is incredible-- we had fruit-filled pancakes and fresh scones. The owner poured our OJ and offered places to visit. Everyone was friendly. The rooms were clean. We plan on going back!
