Owner description: A day of adventure awaits at the National Forest Adventure Farm, whatever the weather. You can meet and feed the animals, explore the outdoor Funfield and have fun in the huge indoor play area. Meet a host of farm animals including pigs, sheep, cows and goats. In the spring and summer you can also bottle feed our lambs. You can cuddle a rabbit or guinea pig and see our more unusual animals such as alpaca, reindeer and chipmunks. We also have daily animal activities including pony grooming, milking demonstrations and egg collecting. The huge Funfield features a range of have a go activities including Go-Karts, assault course, mini golf, jumping pillow and in the summer the Water Splash Out. Why not take a tractor and trailer ride around the farm and look out for the scarecrows? The 3000m² indoor playbarn features a huge soft play area with demon drop slides. There's an under 5's area with a ball pit and giant Lego construction zone. Enjoy eating out or picnicking at one of our landscaped areas on sunny days, or in our airy 120-seat restaurant. In the summer, the Farm is home to a huge 10 acre maize maze. So take on the challenge of 3 miles of pathways, bridges and viewing towers.

“Visit to see santa & the reindeers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Visited with our 21 month old son to see Santa. We are annual members of the Adventure Farm & I think it's amazing value for money & our little one always loves his visits. We went on a Saturday afternoon to visit Santa. The grotto is set up in a barn it isn't huge but it is nicely done & there was no queue which was a godsend. Santa spent quite a bit of time talking to my little boy & then we were led by an Elf to the toy workshop to choose a gift. All of the gifts were of good quality for the £5 we paid. We then took a walk up into the field to see the two magnificent reindeer they have (they are there all year round). They are probably the best kept reindeer I have seen this year. There is also the opportunity for little ones to take part in the nativity play in the barn (fancy dress provided). This is a lovely place to start your christmas off at. It's all tastefully done & not too in your face. Can't wait for our next visit :)

“Festive Fantastic ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

We visited on the 1st December and had an absolutely fantastic day with our 2 year old. The nativity and Sandra's grotto were brilliant and my little boy loved it. This was our first visit back since the summer and we have gad two great visits now. Staff are great and the tractor ride is always a highlight too. We love spotting all the scarecrows :) Great family day out. Look forward to the next time.

“Great day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Made the journey from Birmingham to Tatenhill for a family Christmas day out. Arrived to find that an adult goes free with every paying child which was good. Paid £5 each for the children to see Santa as well so very reasonable entrance fee. Lots to do in the outside area, pedal go karts, playground, mini golf, big inflatable cushion, beat the goalie. The wet area and maze were closed but expected due to time of year. Santa's grotto was great, very christmassy. The children were able to choose their own gifts too. The nativity play in the animal barn was well set up and executed. Children can dress up too and join in. My only negative is the length of time taken to wait for food in the restaurant. We waited for over an hour for 2 children's meals and some chips which nearly made us late for the nativity. To be fair the lady was very apologetic and offered us a complimentary hot drink. All in all a great day. We left at 4.30 and felt we didn't get chance to do everything so will be returning

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Tripadvisor. We are so pleased you had a great family day out and that you and your children enjoyed the Grotto and the Nativity. They have certainly been a big hit this year.

Apologies for the delay in serving your food - it was extremely busy on the day you came, but that should have not caused the sort of delay you experienced. I will ensure the restaurant manager is informed.

We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!

kind regards,

Cathy

“ScreamFest 2013 = very sore Throat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

A group of us from work went to the Screamfest on Friday 25th October. Firstly, I want to say what a great improvement from the 2012 event. The new mazes where very well thought out and Yes we all screamed alot. The Q's this year seemed to be a lot quicker and the longest we Q'd for was an hour for "Slasher". The actors did a great job and we all would recommend this event and will becoming back in 2014.

My only negative thoughts are:
1. Actors all seemed to be in their teens which ment that some of the characters where not really believable. Perhaps recruit some older ones next year (I'd be up for it if you ask :) )
2. Before we entered we all got searched for alcohol and even had to open flasks to have them sniffed for vocka. I'm all for good event security, but the youngest person in our group was 38 years old and so really not likely to be smuggling in alco pops !!!
3. Price - £18.50 for 4 scares. Be careful not to out price yourself. Alton Towers is just down the road !!!!!!

All in all, great night, lots of screams and laughs. See you next year.

P.S. the character with the dead sheep in her arms was amazing and kept us entertained all night. Give her pay rise next year she is a real assist to your event.

Simon,

Thanks for your great review of Screamfest! We will take note of your constructive comments. You are more than welcome to contact us next summer if you would like to get involved yourself - please drop us an email nearer the time. There is generally a large number of younger actors because we work in partnership with Burton College. However, we are always on the look out for older scare actors to balance things out.

In terms of ticket prices, an event like this is incredibly costly to put on, but we do try to ensure that our admission remains reasonable priced, which it does when compared with other Halloween attractions of a similar size.

We look forward to seeing you again next year!

kind regards,

Cathy
