“Reliable and Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

This is a great little place tucked in a small strip center. The food is consistently good and fresh. The bakery goods are wonderful. We never leave without a loaf of bread. It is a popular and crowded local place. There really isn't much seating and the tables are uncomfortably close together. We really wish they would expand or open a carry-out in the same shopping center. The crowds tend to keep us away from Ellen's more than we would like. Otherwise, we highly recommend the food and customer service provided by staff.

“A Small Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

I ate breakfast at this great little restaurant/bakery last week. It's part restaurant and part bakery. The breakfast menu is quite extensive and reasonably priced. If you like coffee, you have a choice of four kinds, displayed in large vacuum pots. Although that part is self serve, you can use a glass or paper cup. Best part - bread is baked fresh everyday so you have a choice of many kinds of this fresh bread for toast. Yum. You have to have a lot of restraint not to purchase some of their gorgeous pastries. Open for breakfast and lunch. They cater, too.

“Wonderful! Fresh.”

Wow! Pleasant surprise to find this little gem! Fresh and delicious. I had the salmon burger. Loved it. I also had an almond croissant, also. Tasty! Service is great.

“Great for Coffee and a Pastry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

Perfect spot to meet a friend. The sandwiches, salad was not memorable. Coffee was decent, bake goods looked enticing.

“A little secret in Sylvan Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2010

Just felt the need to give this gem a great review! The food here is outstanding. We often split one of their delicious sandwiches (bread is fresh and baked right there). We almost always order soup and it is very tasty. The breakfast dishes are so good too. We have probably eaten here at least 25 times and have never been disappointed. The owners are always visible and working hard! The only negative is that the atmosphere is not cozy...floors are hard tile and tables are utilitarian. If they added carpeting and changed the tables and chairs this place would be truly first rate. I really wish they would jazz up the interior. Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant...you won't be disappointed! I also wish they were open for dinner!
