“Elegant Bed & Breakfast”

We were very pleased with our stay at this beautiful 1890's home. It is immaculate and we had a private deck with a view of the harbor, whirlpool/shower, and the most gracious of hosts. The highest compliment - we already booked another stay for Labor Day.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and now we don't know how any other will ever compare! The hospitality of the owners and staff was first class. The daily breakfast and late afternoon appetizers were delicious! We stayed in the room called "The White Chapel" which had it's own balcony overlooking the harbor, a king-sized four post bed, and a large whirlpool tub. The entire experience was delightful and relaxing and we would recommend it to all of our family, friends, and anyone out there looking for a wonderful B&B getaway.

The Carriage House was booked for a weekend for a family anniversary party. David and Suzanne, the owners, pampered us the whole weekend with fresh coffee, cookies, cold drinks and popcorn to snack on. The meals were excellent and beautifully presented. Each room is decorated in Victorian style and very cozy. Even on the third floor, the temperature remained comfortable. It really felt like staying in someone's home, only more relaxing! We enjoyed breakfasts in the sunroom and coffee on the decks outside both the breakfast room and our own room on the third floor. The view of the harbor is breathtaking! There were plenty of seats for visiting in the common rooms and lots of games and movies to choose from, if anyone wanted to choose. David and Suzanne are wonderful hosts and I would recommend the Carriage House at the Harbor to anyone!

I just got back from a 4 day stay at Carriage House at the Harbor in South Haven, Michigan. It is a beautiful Victorian Bed & Breakfast overlooking the harbor.
Our room was called The Brett. A quaint room with a deck to sit and enjoy a drink and watch the boating activity. Complete with morning coffee by 7:30am and breakfast served at 9am. Every day a different variety of breakfast food. One in particular that I loved was Creme Brule French Toast. It was excellent.
Then Hors'derves served every evening at 5pm.
Very pleasant atmosphere.
We will be back for sure.

We stayed at the Carriage House for four nights recently, and without question this Bed and Breakfast is the ultimate in comfort and location with its short walk to Lake Michigan. The Inn is beautiful, the staff are professional and extremely friendly and the proprietors are dedicated to making your stay a memorable experience. From the elegance yet comfortable and inviting interior of the common areas and guest rooms, to the wonderfully prepared breakfasts and late afternoon hors d'oeuvres, this Bed and Breakfast is truly a "must-visit". We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked a return visit for June 2009, and are contemplating a stay over New Years. The proprietors, Suzanne and David, are exceptional and provide an atmosphere that is warm and inviting and totally relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returing there again for future vacation trips.

We just returned from our 3rd stay at this extremely clean and pleasant B&B, with enthusiastic recommendations to share. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, to the point of even loaning a coat to my wife so that we might enjoy a cool evening stroll on the nearby beach. We have now stayed in 3 of their 12 rooms, finding each one truly excellent. A delightful balcony looking over the South Haven harbor, fireplace, jet tub, and perfectly clean room made for a most pleasant stay. The breakfast was truly one of the very best in any B&B we've stayed at, and would match the best of any restaurant. This is certainly the kind of place you'd wish you could spend a week at!

What a delight to come in off the road on a cold winter night and be immediately warmed by the smiling faces of David, Suzanne and several of the guests relaxing together. The rooms are true luxury. Whirpool bubble bath was so hard to get out of, but putting on the robes they provide and then melting into the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Unlike most B&B's, this one delivers on both accounts. Hor's Deuvers at 5pm were a most pleasant and delicious surprise. The breakfast was just incredible. Fresh scones, fresh fruit, and the savory stuff as well. They do it right here! The town is quite fun and just a minutes walk to the lake. Wonderful winter retreat and we'll definitely be back in the summer.
