“Great overnight spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

We spent a spur of the moment night at the Rabbit Run and loved it. The room was furnished in in Pottery Barn style, no fussy lace, no musty old building smell, fluffy pillows and comforter. In room real coffee/espresso maker with real coffee! Fresh cream, choice of sugars, fresh oj. Mini frig held our own refreshments. LInda Jo and Rodney supplied us with brochures for local parks, restauants, things to do. They even supplied perfect weather for us to enjoy while stilling on our private deck with our morning cup(s) of freshly brewed coffee. Warm scones and bananas were descreetly left in a wicker basket at our door. We only wished we brought our own bikes, Rabbit's are getting a little rusty. Great way to spend unwinding time!

Room Tip: We had the place to ourselves so no distractions. The birds taking advantage of the surrounding woo...

Thanks for the great review and thanks for the heads-up about the bikes;
we'll get them in for a spring tune-up.

June 23rd.... It was our very first time to a bed & breakfast. We really enjoyed it. Rodney and Linda Jo were the best hosts. The "Ginkgo" room was very comfortable and decorated beautifully!! We were there celebrating our anniversary. The property and coy pond were taken care of with a lot of love. We sat on our deck and watched and listened to all of the nature around us. The warm muffins in the "cute" wicker basket delivered to our doorstep in the morning were delicious!!! They were very helpful with suggestions on what to do, eat & see. We were very impressed and would definitely go back!!!! We hope to see them very soon!!!!

2nd time staying the weekend at RRI to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed it, even more than last year. We chatted with the owners several times and they were very welcoming and helpful. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers, which we promptly devoured.

We stayed in the Seagrass room upstairs. The rooms are impeccably designed and immaculately cleaned. The bedding was ultra soft and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast is juice and pastries, which were delicious both days. We used the coffee/espresso machine each day and the coffee was tasty.

We rode bikes down to Warren Dunes (we used our own, but they do provide them for you at no charge). It's about 10 minutes on the bike and another 5-10 minute walk to the beach but you come out of a wooded trail to a panoramic view of the beach. It was a great little trip.

We were lent the inn's Cherry Beach pass on Sunday and went there, borrowing their chairs and umbrella. It's a semiprivate beach that is incredibly shallow (you can walk out over 150 feet and be waist deep) Less traffic means clear water and it was crystal clear the day we went. Very relaxing. We returned what we had borrowed and went on our way. Despite having checked out that day, they treated us as guests until we pulled away on the way home.

There are less expensive options out there, inns that are poorly decorated, or inns that provide a full breakfast that you eat at the table with strangers. If you're considering the inn, and I think you should, read their site carefully That being said, I love this place. You are given the freedom and space to create your own fun, intimate weekend with free run of the grounds. They will generously help you while allowing you your privacy. There are great restaurants and wineries nearby. We look forward to staying again next year!

Room Tip: Ask about quick bike trips or walks. Most things are within 1 mile of the inn.

april 12-15th 2012... Just got back from our getaway and enjoyed every sec of it. From the minute that we walked in till the minute we walked out we felt at peace and relaxed. The property was kept up well, and Rodney was wonderful! He was very helpful with letting us know what there was to do and where to go to eat. We will def be going back there. I highly recommend going to Soe cafe for dinner, the food was the best!!! The Inn was with in a few blocks of the beach and next to all the wineries, and next to an amazing brewery called Greenbush.

There was a lot of special touches that Rodney did that made us feel special, especially with the breakfast being dropped off at out front door.

Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I were looking for a quick (2 hr drive) and peaceful retreat from Chicago and we found it at Rabbit Run Inn. The beach is nearby (Cherry Beach or Grand Mere State Park to hike to the beach), the woods (Warren State Park, no one else there the whole afternoon) or nearby Sawyer (small town with a microbrewery and really nice people).

We stayed 3 nights in the Mahogany room (upstairs corner) and it was a perfect fit for us: clean, modern, well-organized & balcony. The wet bar allowed us to make expresso/café (Krups) to our liking whenever we wanted, refrigerator with O.J., local wine, Brie and crackers. Every morning Rodney quietly left a basket of local pastries outside our door. No communal B & B breakfasts…just sit on the balcony at your own pace!

Rodney and Janet are great hosts. Bikes & hikes are available and they had great advice on antique malls and Adirondack chairs. We’ll be back.

Room Tip: It's a small inn, I imagine all rooms are excellent quality. Upstairs with the balcony was a ni...

Our family stayed here for a last-minute Fall getaway. It is, hands down, the best hotel/inn in the area. Very quaint - beautifully decorated and immaculate. The owners are great and have thought of every little detail. We especially loved the orange juice served in jars and the morning pastries. We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I were very pleased with the Rabbit Run. We spent our one year anniversary weekend there in July and had so much fun. The rooms are gorgeous! When my husband said we were going to a B&B I cringed and thought about a dirty house in the woods with granny print drapes...but no! Rabbit Run is modern and lovely! Super clean and comfy. They had bikes to use for free and helmets too:) We rode bikes to Warren Dunes beach with the map they gave us. We also took advantage of Cherry Beach with their pass which was beautiful and much less crowded. They had so much information for us to use and they left a little note and wine for our anniversary.
You should also definitely take advantage of the wineries and Soe Cafe closeby, it was delicious!
