The OJ, as the locals call the hotel, is a great place to stay. It is located right next door to the Famous Soo Locks and within walking distance of a lot of the local shops and attractions. Rooms are very clean, the Freighters restaurant is wonderful and the Pub & Grill lots of fun. Front Desk staff very warm and welcoming at check in and has info for all the activities going on in the area. Linda also provided us with directions, in writing, to the scenic route to Whitefish Point!

The only bad thing about the OJ is that they need to update their advertising! The only time the Hotel actually overlooks the Locks is in the late Fall, Winter and early Spring. In the summer months, the trees in the Soo Locks Park block the view of the Locks themselves. The entrance to the Locks and it's viewing platforms is a short 1/4 block from the hotel.

The OJ is a historic hotel and we very much recommend it for your stay in Sault Ste. Marie.

I just made reservations. My son (11) and I wanted to go on a long weekend together. I called this hotel. Robert spent a great deal of time answering my questions, finding us the "best deals" for accommadations with a view and attractions. I appreciate that our needs were listened to and we were provided many options. I feel confident that the vacation Robert helped me set up will be a wonderful experience for me and my son..

We have been chartering a bus to take our family and friends to the Sault for the annual I-500 Snowmobile races. The hotel staff had cookies waiting for our group. The reception certainly let us know we were appreciated and destined to have a wonderful weekend. We shared so many funny stories in the bar with the staff and the views from the Frieghters dining room were spectacular as was the food. We made our reservations with the hotel for next year before we left. Good Job, Ojibway!! The Wilson Bunch

We recently spent a delightful long weekend at the Ojibway Hotel. Our check in with Linda was very fast and pleasant. We asked what there was to do in the Soo and Linda, very honestly, said not to much in the winter. She asked us if we were skiers, no; snowmobilers, no. She told us about Minneapolis Woods and it's great tubing run and we went and had a blast! She also gave us Comp tickets to Lake Superior State University's hockey games which we enjoyed very much.

Freighter's Restaurant and the Pub had great food. Both Linda and Karen encouraged us to come back in the summer & fall when there is much more to see and do in this beautiful area of our state. And we will and the Ojibway will be our choice for our home away from home.P
