“good value”

This is an older motel and the decor is dated. The room was clean and quiet and the innkeeper was very friendly. The mattress was firmer than what I prefer. The breakfast wasn't anything great but my experience is that most free breakfasts at hotels aren't great. This is a good value for the money IMHO.

Thank You for choosing to stay with us. And thanks for taking the time submit a review. YOHO of "good value" is just what we strive to provide to our guests. In regards to the vintage of our property, we think a guest this past weekend sums it up nicley also; "very nice place, in the style of the 'good old days'". “trip with the dog”

We decided to take a fall color tour and try traveling with our dog. We picked this place because it was pet friendly and rated 4.5 on tripadvisor.
I have to say I was very disappointed. The motel is old and the carpet very stained. All the furniture is right out of 1970 and the free breakfast consisted of coffee and a donut. It did not smell, though. Sorry but I disagree on the high rating

Thank You for being our guest. I am sorry we fell short of your expectations. While we do have an older property, we take pride in offering our customers great service, clean rooms and reasonable rates. We do have one room left that is pretty retro as far as furnitue (that is one of our pet friendly rooms too.) As we are nearing the end of our busy tourist season I realize all of our rooms are due for carpet cleaning as well as the extensive deep cleaning and refurbishing we do in the off season. Your comments on our breakfast ,however, are just not accurate as we do offer a pretty good variety including; orange and apple juice, regular and decafe coffee ,tea, hot cocoa, plain and blueberry bagels, english muffins, toast, cream cheese, jelly, peanut butter, as well as oatmeal, a variety of cold cereals, milk, mini muffins, danish and yes, we usually have donuts.

“Nice place to stay”

In looking for a place to stay on a trip around Lake Superior we looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor. We picked the Budget Host Crestview Inn. We like the location and the rooms. If you are looking for a place to sleep, shower and take a break between sight seeing this is the place. Nice people run it and their staff is good to work with. While the place is older it is in very good shape. We will stay here again if in the area.

Room Tip: They are all good rooms.

“Hidden Gem for price.”

$59 per night can't be beat for single room. Older motel, but well maintained. Outside entrance. Small continental breakfast; cereal, muffins, donuts, pastry, instant oatmeal. Coffee, juice, milk. Tables outside, or take back to your room. Grill outside also if you want to do your own grilling. Bed very comfortable and room was clean w/ TV, WiFi. Stayed two nights before going to Tahquamenon Falls. Walked around Mackinaw City visiting stores and winery first day, went to Mackinac Island second day. Excellent place to stay. Manager was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Had a room two doors from office and no problems with noise. Very nice place to stay.

“Third time we have stayed and loved more each time....”

This is the third time we have stayed at this charming place. I hesitate to tell people what a great place it is. But they deserve for people to know about it. This place is cleaner than the big named places further up on the business spur, or down on Portage. It is an older structure, but sound and very very quiet, considering where it is located. I have never even heard my neighbors. Slept fantastic all three times!
The FREE breakfast has enough variety for everyone. They also have set up an outdoor eating area with a grill. We met people on both mornings. Had we more time we would have went to Neville's and bought something to grill.
These are hard working Michiganders, who make you feel they are there just for you. So if you are in the area and need a place to stay, this is it!

There are quite a few lodging choices in Sault Ste. Marie. We like to think we offer one of the better valued options. Kind words from nice folks like you really help us to get the word out that if you are going to "Do the Soo" then you should stay at the Budget Host Crestview Inn.
