Who doesn't love a great story and a pleasant walk on a summer evening! That is why is was such a treat to join Jim and Mary Couling at the Soo Locks Park last Wednesday for an hour and a half walk thru the rich history of the land between the Great Lakes Superior and Huron.
Jim, dressed as a French voyager is a thoroughly engaging storyteller who leads his guests thru the paths of history from the arrival of the Native populations to the conquests of the French, British and American missionaries, traders and the pendulum swings of those national powers. Mary contributes her fine sense of humor and engaging voice to help guests participate in the storyline.
After that walk stick around for a spooky walk thru the streets and alley's of old Sault Ste. Marie haunted by the long deceased and the newly spirited. It seems like most of the downtown has a ghost or two in the closet...or stairway. Jim and Mary will leave you a bit spooked, but also a fun-filled evening of haunted adventures.
