My husband and I stayed there in June of this year. We stay here, every time we're in Saugatuck., which is a couple of times a year. We've enjoyed our stays here very much. We love the uniquely decorated theme rooms and we find the owners are friendly and very helpful. The Inn is within walking distance of a very good Bar & Grill and just across the street is a wonderful spa. You can even walk to downtown, if you so desire. Just let the owner know what you're interested in seeing or doing, and she'll setup appointments or reservations for you. The owners provide the type of service that is normally only provided at bigger hotels. If you want a comfortable, clean, relaxing, and above all, affordable place to stay, it's the Hooten Inn..

My partner and I just got back from a long weekend in Saugatuck staying at the Hooten Inn. For the price, you can't beat it. The rooms are comfy and the bathroom was tidy and functional. The owner was very friendly and helpful. In three minutes (in the car) you can be in downtown Saugatuck. Four minutes to Douglas and 10 minutes to Oval Beach. The only downside is that you are right on the Blue Star Highway. Kinda noisy during the day, but relatively quiet at night.

The Hooten was great! It's offers much more than a typical roadside motel. Each room is decorated according to a theme. I stayed in the safari room, which was painted in safari colors--tans and browns--with a border of painted jungle animals. There was even a small carved zebra figurine on a shelf over the bed. I had friends staying in the Harley Davidson room and the sunflower room, and these, too, were nicely decorated according to their themes. The sheets were soft and colorful, the towels fluffy, and the room and bathroom spotless. The room had a good air conditioner, dvd player, small refrigerator, coffeemaker and microwave--and everything worked! While not a luxury hotel, the Hooten presents a fine contrast to hotel chains that have sandpapery towels, rough sheets, and institutional decor. It also compares favorably to other hotels/inns in the area. The owners want to do right by their guests and I found them to be friendly and accommodating. You can't go wrong by staying here--and I'd defintely go back.

  • Liked — Personal decor and personal touches, everything worked in the room!! and the comfort

I recently just stayed at the Hooten Inn, not at all what I expected for a roadside motel, the room was decorated nicely, extremely clean, comfortable beds, I'd leave inthe morning, come back and room was cleaned and had fresh clean linen/towels. It was a quite comfortable place to say, the management was extremely helpful at directing me around the town. I definitely will be staying here again!!!

My husband and I spent a romantic weekend at the Hooten Inn. The rooms were charming and delightfully themed. We stayed in the Safari room and loved it. The owners were helpful and caring, with loads of ideas on what to do for an enjoyable weekend. Our next trip we are going to try the Roman Room. Don't let the outside fool you, the Hooten Inn is a gem.
