The Hooten was great! It's offers much more than a typical roadside motel. Each room is decorated according to a theme. I stayed in the safari room, which was painted in safari colors--tans and browns--with a border of painted jungle animals. There was even a small carved zebra figurine on a shelf over the bed. I had friends staying in the Harley Davidson room and the sunflower room, and these, too, were nicely decorated according to their themes. The sheets were soft and colorful, the towels fluffy, and the room and bathroom spotless. The room had a good air conditioner, dvd player, small refrigerator, coffeemaker and microwave--and everything worked! While not a luxury hotel, the Hooten presents a fine contrast to hotel chains that have sandpapery towels, rough sheets, and institutional decor. It also compares favorably to other hotels/inns in the area. The owners want to do right by their guests and I found them to be friendly and accommodating. You can't go wrong by staying here--and I'd defintely go back.
