We always plan our 3 hour drive to Saugatuck so we arrive at Ida's about 11 am. This is the perfect time for brunch and the weekend crowds tend to be smaller at this time. This place serves some of the best food on the planet! My personal favorite is the Florentine omelet. The ingredients are alway fresh and the eggs light and fluffy. Another favorite as a meal or side are the corn cakes. The batter has whole kernel corn and they are always cooked to perfection. Slathered in maple syrup you can't go wrong. We have always had friendly service, at a bit slower pace than the big city, but that is the way it should be. That's the reason to go to Saugatuck in the first place to decompress. If the wait is long that must indicate that the food is worth it and the reputation of the place warrants it! Don't mess with perfection.
