“Waste of time complaining.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Visited Friday 13th September in a party of three for lunch.
My wife ordered the sweet and sour pork and rice from the Senior Citizens menu and I ordered the same, but from the Specials board for a larger portion .which was more expensive.
When the meals arrived, I was to say the least very surprised to find that there was no difference in the size of the portions.
After the meal which was ok, I asked the waitress if she would explain what the difference was between the Senior Citizens menu and the Specials menu, she said that the Specials menu was a larger portion.
When I disputed this saying that both dishes were exactly the same she said she would have a word with the chef.
Needless to say no explanation was forthcoming, hence this review
If visiting this restaurant I would be very wary of ordering from the Specials board as you can receive the same size portion from the Senior Citizens menu cheaper and avoid being over charged.
I realise that they have to make a profit but this is not the way to do it !!

“Enjoyable Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Decided to come for a change. Have been several times over the years. Went on a Monday night and found the food was very good. Good choice on menu and promptly served. Couldn't find any fault.

“Terrible Sunday lunch”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Been to Sunday lunch at the Queen's Head today and the food was absolutely awful. The Sunday lunch was inedible. Firstly the beef tasted and was cut like it was a boil in the bag meat, even though I was assured this wasn't the case. The meal came without any gravy which once I asked for some it was provided. The vegetables were clearly tinned and the roast potatoes were like nothing I have tasted before. Very disappointed as it wasn't cheap. The service was also very poor. When I did mention that I was disappointed that it was processed food ,I was told that it most certainly wasn't. Well all I can say is, if that is the case the chef is remarkable at taking fresh produce and making it taste like tasteless disgusting food. My daughter also ordered a pork Sunday lunch and was very disappointed in her meal as well.

“Dinner with friends”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Despite booking some weeks ago there was no record! Table we were offered was cramped and room extremely hot. Fans were visible but not in use. Menu does not seem to have changed since our last visit some 3 years ago - everything deep fried except the salad. No sauces offered with main courses and staff did not check if all ok. Food adequate but nothing special despite the high prices. Staff miserable and slow to serve. Would not recomend or visit again
