“good old fashioned entertainment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

We were so excited to have a go on the carousel it is good old fashioned fun. Everyone on the ride really enjoyed themselves and there are seats to suit everyone. I have trouble with arthritis so couldnt ride a horse but there are gondoliers that proved very comfy. I real must for kids of all ages and very good value too, i cant wait to go on again next time we are in St Joe

“A favorite place to take the grandkids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2011

We live nearby and make the trip to the Silver Beach Carousel with the grandkids at least once per summer. Not only can you ride the carousel, there is the Discovery Zone for kids, the Whirpool Splash Pad (which is free), and the Silver Beach Pizza. Plus you can walk around downtown and see the latest art (which was farm animals this year). A nice way to spend the day. In the winter, the holiday lights along the Bluff are also a must see.

“Excellent!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2011

A must do for families with children! We have three young children (ages 9,7,4) and for $5, they were all able to ride the carousel! I was able to ride for free since our youngest was too little to ride by himself. We ended up letting them ride it again the next day too. Lots of fun!

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2011

What a beautiful carousel! The artwork and detail are wonderful. The ride does require tokens which are available at a small token machine or at the cashier by Discovery Zone. The ride itself was long enough in duration, but the star of the show was the individual carousel animals. The staff was friendly. They also have a variety of old time carnival/boardwalk memorabilia and of course, popcorn and a tub of cotton candy. I believe there were also some vending machines. I can only imagine how this place looks in the summer time when the beach is full of activity. A must do if you are a carousel lover.

“delightful for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

The brand new indoor Silver Beach Carousel evokes the old days at the Silver Beach Amusement Park...but the old carousel was never as clean, bright, and cheerful as this. The horses and other animals are unique, and a sense of humor prevails. Open year round; seasonal hours. Admission is free; tickets are sold for the ride. Volunteers run this place with love.

This is a great location for a family outing. In the same building is the Curious Kids Museum annex, and across the street are the outdoor, run-through Compass Fountain and wonderful Silver Beach Pizza. Silver Beach Park, Shadowland Pavillion and the fishing pier are a walkable block away on Lake Michigan. Atop the bluff you'll find Curious Kids Museum, shops & restaurants. On summer weekends, you may find live music at either the bandshell on the bluff or at Shadowland Pavillion at the beach.
