We stayed here on a road trip with my family. We got a suite and the room was nice and large with a nice sitting area separate from the sleeping area. It would have been better, however, if the separation between these areas was more than just a 4' partition. This made it difficult to watch television while someone else slept. The view out of one window was wonderful; the view out of the other window was of a stairwell. I'm usually not picky about these things, though. Who spends a whole lot of time in the hotel room during a vacation. The price was good and my family enjoyed the complimentary casino vouchers. What was disappointing, however, was the minimal breakfast - no eggs, no hot cereal, no milk - just bagels, toast, and juice and coffee. If this is not important to you, it was an alright place to spend a night.

We did things backwards...after learning that the newer casino hotel was booked, we chose to make a reservation at the older Lakefront Inn. After I made the reservation, I read the reviews, which were kind of iffy. We decided to take a chance, and thought if it was really horrible, then we would not stay at this hotel. Although it is older, we found that it was a great value for the money.We stayed on a Friday night in July, and other hotels in the area were at least $100 a night higher. The room was clean, a very large and although the hotel was full, it was very quiet. Plus, my husband and I each received $10 and $15 in slot gambling money at the casino. We paid $85 for the room (includes tax) and got $25 back, making the total $60 for the night. A great deal! We will stay there again.

My wife and I usually stay here when we travel to the Straits area. This time we booked a spa bath with king bed. The price was $1.00 more than a standard king. Try to get a room with a lake view, because the sunrise is priceless! Usually the casino package is so good that it doesn't make sense to stay anywhere else. Top value for the money. Room was clean and nice as usual

My wife and I were expecting to stay at the casino. This is a few miles south of the casino and right on Lake Huron. The view IS SPECTACULAR. The rooms are awful.

The A/C was a window unit retrofitted for a wall using 2x4s. The unit is also placed on the floor of the room 2 feet from the bed, and it clunks all night. The lowest setting is 68- so if you come in at 4pm on an 80+ degree day and turn it on, it's still warm at 11:30 when you want to sleep.

The room is not bug proof. Yes- I know bugs are expected by a lake shore. A pile of them behind the sink when we checked in IS NOT expected.

We had to go get our own soap and shampoo- the lobby staff said housekeeping must have forgotten it. They also forgot to wash the toothpaste splash off the mirror from the previous guests as well as the mildew from the misfitted drop-in tub surround.

We are not going to stay here again and advise others to avoid it
