“Best place to eat in Royal Oak”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

Miss the old menu terribly. Just can't understand why the had to change every entree. Even the most popular! Like the tuna/shrimp combo with miso. Please come to your senses!!!

“Such a disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

High expectations led our way; maybe that was too premature. First time for us at this highly recommended restaurant.
We ordered two dishes: Old Fighter Cat Fish Sandwich (Cat Fish, Gouda on an onion bun) and Basil Pesto Salmon with Spinach Fettuccine. The Cat fish was fat and had no taste except garlic. On top of the fish was gouda cheese, determining the main taste of the dish. On top of the buns the chef placed two deep fried from fat/oil reeking pickles. The whole setup was surely meant to be something new and special, but the execution was sub-par, way too much fat/oil and garlic.
The Basil Pesto Fettuccine with Salmon: Very dry salmon (frozen?), the fettuccine totally over-cooked and smothered with garlic. The taste was mainly garlic and more garlic. Not sure why this restaurant is called “exceptional”. Maybe we picked the wrong dishes.

The food was good and the customer service. I have been so busy to go back. I will revisit this soon.

“Shrimps, Shrimps, and more Shrimps”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Nice atmosphere, excellent service, and shrimps were off the hook. I ordered saute shrimps from the entre menu, plate was full of large ones with potatoes and tartar sauce on the side, totally recommended for shrimp lovers.

“Specials always worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

The specials are always worth getting. Servers are always pleasant. Can be very crowded at "prime times" but worth the wait.
