I am amazed that this company stays in business offering extremely poor accomodations, abysmal service and institutional food for outrageous cost. My family took a short spring break trip and are thankful we didn't invest more time and cost into it. We arrived to an obviously packed park and harried staff. We waited sometime for our room to be ready but it was ready by the 4 oclock check in time they gave us on the website. However at $300 a night for a one bedroom condominium, one doesn't expect ripped wallpaper, walls in disrepair - holes had been spackled but not painted - curtains hanging from wires strung over the windows, moldy patio furniture, a deck strewn with hundreds of cigarette butts. Our bedroom had a closet right next to the head of the bed which housed the heating the system for the condo. All night we were awakened by the jet take-off sound of the furnace firing up. No remote control for the tv, no extra blankets, no hooks to hang wet towels.
The dining options are limited. When we arrived the cafe was open, offering sandwiches and pizza. We waited almost 30 minutes for our $35 worth of food: 4 sodas, 4 sandwiches. We made reservations at the "fine dining" restaurant, Sundance and were disappointed again. The server was obviously inexperienced and when my husband ordered an Amstel Light, asked "What's that?" "A beer. On your menu." She brought out our entrees before the salads we had ordered and asked if she should just box those up for us since she had already brought our entrees. My husband's steak was blue-raw inside and burnt outside. He asked for another to be Medium rare as he had ordered and she said she'd have them 'throw it back on the grill for us'. I explained clearly that this steak was too burned and he would like another. They brought out the same steak, more burned, this time with a chunk of butter on it. When my husband asked that they cook a piece of fish instead, they did and it was okay. Unfortunately they couldn't get the bill right, gave me two different totals and couldn't explain why. The server, after spending 10 minutes with the manager, came back and said "my manager did something AMAZING for you, she took $8 off your bill."
Yes, I am amazed. Amazed that this company gets away with ripping off crowds like this.
At 10:30 my family who couldn't stomach the food from Sundance went looking for munchies at the gift shop. No food options once they close down at 10. Not even a vending machine.
In all - Accomodations: Dated and in need of repair, Dining: Abysmal Waterpark: Fun but not super clean Arcade: Nice people but everything in need of repair, completely out of "prizes" at the end of spring break.
Upon checking out I saw - in full view of everyone - the office staff wipe board reading "Spring Break is finally over" Nice. Thanks for nothin JJ!
