“Great location for DTW airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

I stayed here for an early morning flight. The hotel is clean and the location was great for the car rental return. There is no elevator in this hotel. The restaurant staff was very friendly. There is a gas station right next door which was very convenient to fill up the rental car before turning it in. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time here but it was fine for an overnight stay. The room was very large.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so if you have a lot of luggage ask for a first floor room.

We have stayed at the Clarion with the stay and park package a few times now when flying out of the Metro airport.

The hotel is located just of the highway and close to the airport. The rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. There is a breakfast included with the stay but we have never been able to take advantage of it as it only opens at 5:30am and we usually have a 6am flight. Parking is included across the street at Airline Parking and they have been fast, friendly and secure.

One shortcoming is there are a lack of restaurants in the immediate area. However there is one in the hotel itself but we have not tried it.

We will continue to stay at the Clarion when we fly out of Metro.

Hotel is a little dated, but their Park, Sleep and Fly package is a good deal at $74.99. Not bad for a clean room, and leaving your car for a week. Price is right, close to the airport and lots of restaurants nearby.

This hotel was priced at about $55.00, and for that price you will receive a clean place to lay your head and free internet and for some people that is great and all they need for the night. I would stay here again if it was just one nite and quickly passing through. It is also near I-94 express and a variety of eating places around, nothing too fancy though. Nothing special or outstanding about this hotel, not even the clerk at the front desk, she was not 'that into me...as her customer'. Oh, I forgot, I was on the second floor, and it was not too noisy...the heat worked great but the water backed up into the tub when showering. And yes you can hear the planes very well at night when you have quieted down for the evening.

Room Tip: no elevator to the second floor

This hotel has NO elevator. If you are handicapped or have baggage, reserve and ask for 1st floor. I have never seen a hotel without elevators in the USA. I was assigned a 2nd floor room, and I had to haul several suitcases up the stairs myself and ended up breaking my back. My family vacation was ruined by this hotel. Never again here.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor or skip this hotel.

This hotel near the airport was adequate, but I noticed that this hotel and most of the other hotels were situated between 2 landing strips at the airport so if noise is a factor, it could be a problem. I travel with my white noise machine which drowned out the noise of the airplanes. I would recommend to try to get a room facing the inner courtyard/swimming pool which would probably be quieter (although those rooms have 2 beds and may be more expensive than the ones facing the outside). The restaurant was average, but adequate and cold breakfast average. There is no elevator so be aware that you have to carry your bags up to the 2nd floor. While the shuttle was on time, a long queue formed outside in the cold and I had some concern that there were too many people for the 6:30 am shuttle. They were able to squeeze everyone in the shuttle with people in the aisles.

Room was very clean and fridge bigger than expected. Facility showing some age but it is well maintained. Continental breakfast was below average. Many airline personnel seem to stay there. Property is convenient to Detroit Metro Airport.

Room Tip: I was on west side and it had lots of plane noise.
