A wonderful dining experience that caters to the casual business traveler, the family or the romantic couple, Leonardo's is located in Romulus, Michigan just outside of Detroit's airport area. I sat in the bar as I was dining alone and could watch the World Series. The bar area was spacious and surprisingly quiet. The TV was on the game, but not blarring - you could still hear yourself think. I ordered a Rochester Mills IPA on draft - excellent choice - and proceeded to order the Leonardo's Calzone (think "everything" calzone). The bar maid (who took my order) mistakenly put in a Leonardo's Pizza and it arrived at my table 10 minutes later. When I indicated that I ordered the Calzone, the waiter promptly apologized and took the pizza away. Within 5 minutes he returned with the pizza and a To Go box and told me the pizza was "on the house" and my calzone should be out momentarily. When my calzone arrived it was accompanied by another Rochester Mills IPA (again, on the house because of the order confusion). The calzone was amazing. It was cooked to perfection with great stuffings and a crispier, thinner crust than most calzones. Some calzones can become "doughy" and end up being mostly bread - not at Leonardo's. It was excellent - as was the service despite the small mistake with my order. Take time to stop at this delightful restaurant - you won't be sorry!
