“An unexpected stay due to flight cancellation DTW”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

We had not expected to stay in any hotel the evening of August 9, 2012 but the airline offered a discount to this one. We took a shuttle from the DTW airport here. The hotel was wonderful; I question other reviews. Our room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the shower good with plenty of hot water and decent pressure, the staff very friendly. The FREE continental breakfast included: hot tea, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, milk, four cold cereals, prepared oatmeal, apples, oranges, two different kinds of muffins, toast, a belgian waffle maker, sausage links and scrambled eggs. Yogurt was also included. This seems the most complete continental breakfast that I have ever seen. The hotel was very clean, the pool nice and the hot tub looked great. We had a wonderful stay here!

Room Tip: Our room just happened to be on the second floor and around the corner, away from the large group of...

First 2 days of week long baseball vacation. Arrived at hotel about 10:30 pm after driving since 9am. Front desk very helpful and friendly. Planned on staying 1 night and getting in closer to downtown in morning but was too tired to get up and going before checkout time. This was no problem for them they handled it very well. Rooms were kind of run down but nothing I couldn't handle. Air conditioner and refrigerator worked just fine. The breakfast was your typical waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage, nothing special but nothing wrong either.Staff very helpful getting giving derections to ballpark and friendly with check out. Not bad for the price, nothing a little new carpet and paint couldn't fix up.

All sorts of things to do, and I've not even gotten to my room yet! Have stayed here twice and love it. Lots of room, an atrium, game room and pool!

We have stayed here a few different times and absolutely LOVE it! The place is wrapped in plants and waterfalls to view and very easy for my Mother in Law to travel around in with her wheel chair and the accessibility there! We had an easy EARLY check in because we needed one and everyone was very friendly, kind and courteous helping us with anything we needed as well! Jacuzzi, Pool, Sauna, Fitness Center, Continental Breakfast with Waffles :-0 too and even a pool table...all that you need to enjoy yourself and kick back with some R & R or even do your business on the computers <>< †

Room Tip: nice to view with an outside room going out to the pool area and open space with all the colorful fl...

This is a great place to start a trip from the airport. The atrium encompasses the entire hotel ensuring an indoor experience with tall windows along the top so that there is ample lighting. The pool, hot tub, pool tables, restaurant, bar and lobby are all in one large open area. There were a mix of family and couples/singles/business people. The pool is mostly for the children and the hot tub for parents and others. The bar is friendly but some drinks are limited. The breakfast was adequate not that great but slightly above normal for these places. The lobby is spacious and quite nice. The rooms are quite good, no complaints except no fridge but the ice maker worked out just great. Would choose again for travel out of Detroit.

Of all the options by Detroit Metro this might be the most economical. It could be great with a huge indoor entertainment pavillion, but then the hot-tub should be working, the lighting improved and perhaps a few more touches other than turned over chairs, and trash cans. It begs for a water slide.

The room was clean and sufficient. Wireless yes, but it didn't work. It was kind of creepy traversing the endless miles of halls to get to your room. No sign of security.

And BEWARE of the 4 PM cancellation policy. I think many people take a look at the place and head for the door, but this makes it impossible. My last stay at a Best Western until the standardize these policies. After all, isn't that the whole idea?

Room Tip: Face the pool.

I stayed 1 night in this hotel not by choice (I missed a connecting flight, and this was the place Delta had a contract with) and now I have bed bug bites on my arms, legs and face. Enough said, I'll stay in the airport next time.
