“Excellent Location and Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

Excellent location. Just off I94 and very close to DTW rental car area. Can be somewhat noisy on the higher floors in the evenings until 2200 hrs and after 0530 hrs as it sometimes is directly under the flight path of planes that are landing.

Great restaurant in the hotel. The chef is a character. Well worth eating in the restaurant rather than going elsewhere. I had a wonderful meal there.

Standard Hilton room. Everything was clean and worked as expected. Internet speed was adequate. Check-in was fast and friendly. Status was recognized.

Much better than the nearly Hampton Inn or Marriott Courtyard, in my opinion.

Second time using this hotel. Staying for a week on 4th floor while visiting family. No set schedule so I figured I would sleep in. But, No point in putting the "do not disturb" sign on door since housekeeping starts knocking on every other door down the hall at 7:30am. Then when entering, every door down the hall slams behind them...not to mention the one inch gap under the door that lets me even hear their phone conversations in the hall. This was not every day as housekeeping started later on the weekend.
Plane noise doesn't matter as I used to live in the area.
As others have stated, the Breakfast is very good.

Right next to the airport, it's convenient if you come in on a late flight or have an early morning flight. Comfortable rooms, but the breakfast leaves something to be desired. I would recommend to get made to order, not what they have out for the buffet. The shuttle driver is very friendly.

We were in Detroit for a hockey tournament. The night manager we met when we checked in on
Thanksgiving was awesome so we expected a great experience. Since we weren't going to be home for the holiday we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. They ran out of the special holiday turkey dinners by 7 p.m.! Ok, no big deal. So we all ordered sandwiches. It took forever to get our meals even though the restaurant was not very crowded. We made a comment to the server who then told the night manager who came and apologized profusely and bought us dessert and offered us drinks. Very nice, but not necessary. The food was pretty good.
The next day, housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 a.m. and we asked them to come back a little later. They never did. The following day, they knocked at 9 a.m. again and we told them we were getting ready for our games and to please come back in a half hour. They never did. So three nights at the Hilton and not one visit from housekeeping other than the two knocks on our door.
By Saturday night, our room had quite a bit of garbage in it and the tiny waste cans were spilling over. So I went to the front desk to let them know our room was never cleaned and the lady was completely indifferent. She asked if we needed our garbage emptied and I said we did so someone came to our room and emptied the garbage cans but that was it. No apology, nothing.
The night manager who worked Saturday night was rude. She said someone from our floor was complaining there were people running up and down the halls non-stop. I snuck up stairs and listened for about 15 minutes and didn't hear a sound or see a single kid in the halls, much less running up and down them. I ran into the security guard (an off duty police officer) and he said every time the person would complain, he would come up to our floor and find, see or hear nothing. I personally think the complainant was trying to angle for a free hotel stay. But when one of our parents spoke with the night manager (not the same one we met upon check-in), she was rude and acted like our parent was lying.
So, decent food? Yes. Quick service? Uh, NO. Nice night manager? Yes on Thursday. Not so much the other nights. Housekeeping? Other than a quiet knock on the door, I couldn't say for sure it actually exists at this hotel.
The one saving grace (other than the super cool, funny and friendly night manager on Thanksgiving) was their breakfast every morning was outstanding. Really good, fresh squeezed OJ and good omelets, French toast and pancakes made to order.
Would we go back? I doubt it. Only if we HAVE TO because the hockey tournament gets to pick where we stay. The Hilton gets a very average review (and only because we are generally pretty easy to please).

Room Tip: Maybe stay at one of the other hotels all within a few blocks?

Arrived at the hotel on Thanksgiving night for a hockey tournament. We were greated at the desk by Laura, who was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and came with a fridge and microwave. Very clean. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant on Thanksgiving, unforturnatley they were out of their turkey dinner. The meal I had was OK. Breakfast on the other hand was made to order, complimentary, and excellent. There is also a small bar in the lobby. Noise was no issue. I grew up near an airport and the amount of air traffic that was audible was minimal. Overall a very good stay.

My husband and I stayed prior to an early morning DTW flight. I am laughing at these reviews about the noise - IT'S NEXT TO THE AIRPORT! :)
The location made it easy. Booked through Priceline for less than $100. Nice, clean rooms. Friendly front desk person. Easy in, easy out. Business-like décor.

Needed to stay between late arrival and next day departure. Staff was friendly, room was average, wi-fi was fine. Ate dinner there too, as there's not much around, was pretty good but not such a large portion was provided (pasta dish, not even bread offered). Breakfast was excellent and filling. Airport pick-up and return were very efficient. I was reluctant to stay in the city plus I understand there is no direct public transportation there so this option was reasonable.
