“Wow! Great soups and sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013 via mobile

Referred here by a friend and was he right! My daughter and I split one of the best Reuben's I have ever had. We also enjoyed the chicken gumbo and garden vegetable soups tremendously. Yummy

“One of the best sandwich places around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2012

Half Day Cafe offers an innovative sandwich menu of over a dozen hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast items including quiche, soups and salads. You can also combine items for your own sandwich. My favorite is the turkey reuben made with cold slaw and home made bread. The sandwiches are thick and ample. The bread used in the sandwiches is exceptional. I have stopped there just to get these sandwiches and rewarm them for dinner.
I have also tried breakfast there - scrambled eggs which were perfectly done. I've have the quiche, but warmed up and eaten the next day. It was too rubbery that way.
The restuarant offers a small dining room for sit down customers (order at the entrance, they bring you the meal) and take-out. They close at 4pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends.
The staff is excellent, very fast and very friendly. I am not crazy about the decor of odd looking tiles but it does not detract from the meal.
I go to Half Day about twice a month at least and have never been disappointed.
It is in a very busy shopping center that features three other restuarants, and two grocery stores. Parking can be at a premium especially on weekends. There are four handicap parking places very close to the restuarant.
