“New, and front desk excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We chose this hotel based on TA reviews. New, clean, and all the amenities including extra towels, comfy beds, and except for wifi problems, which the front desk apologized for, our stay was great.

Kudos to Brandy the front desk worker, who made a special effort via phone call to make sure all was acceptable, and was extra friendly.

This is very nice modern courtyard. Kalamazoo desperately needed a new/updated Marriott property, IMO. The problem is their internet is awful. They have an upgraded faster wifi service but it wasn't working. When I called the front desk they said it wasn't working and the reason the normal wifi was slow was because the hotel was full. I look forward to the day when courtyard's realize high speed wifi is essential to business travelers.

Dear Imabuki,
Thank you for your feedback of the Courtyard by Marriott Kalamazoo. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with our complimentary WiFi. I understand how important reliable WiFi is to our business travelers, and that is why I have already addressed this concern with my staff to ensure similar situations do not occur again. I greatly appreciate your feedback, and hope you will give us another chance to impress you on your next trip to Kalamazoo.

Sincerely,
Robert S.

I had a great experience here at this brand new hotel. Matt at the front desk is especially helpful and accomodating. The hotel just opened on Oct. 1st so everything is new and fresh. The lobby has a restaurant/bar that serves breakfast and dinner. The rooms have a beautiful, modern color scheme with lots of pewter tones. The bathroom had a spacious walk in shower. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area. It will beat any Hampton, Hilton Garden Inn, or other similar property!

If you like the Courtyard brand and I do then this is a great choice for the
Kalamazoo area. It just opened Oct 2013, is very convenient to the highway and has a nice Bistro that serves breakfast lunch dinner and drinks. I travel for business and it was perfect .... with one exception. Highway noise can be an issue if your room faces the interstate and your a light sleeper. Otherwise I'd give it an excellent.

Kalamazoo area.

An enjoyable stay at a very new hotel. Facilities and room were in excellent condition. Check in was quick and pleasant and I would be happy to stay here again. A few minor items: The gym was well equipped except someone had swiped the 10# weights. There were no water cups at the gym but I mentioned it to the front desk and they immediately brought some. Clock in the room was 12 hours off but I fortunately noticed that as I was setting the alarm. This is the second Marriott in a row that there were 2 bottles of conditioner but no bottles of shampoo - the bottles say "Super Rich Conditioner - Apres Shampooing" , with the "Apres Shampooing" being French for "Conditioner" I believe. Marriott needs to train their staff to put shampoo and conditioner in the rooms! Or choose some bottles that aren't confusing to their staff ...

Rooms very very spacious and comfortable beds. I will definitely stay here again. I have nothing bad to say.

Loved our stay this past weekend! Brandy at the Front Desk and Emily at the Bistro were both very friendly and helpful! Everything was great, except there was a large Soccer Team at the hotel during our stay, which made for a congested and noisy lobby and busy pool area. My only suggestion would be to put the team on the bottom two floors if possible, so that other travelers can be higher up and not bothered by the running down halls, yelling across the halls, and slamming of doors. Not the hotel's fault but maybe some preplanning would of caused less annoyances for others. Just a small suggestion. But I will stay here any time I am back in the area and highly suggest that you do too!
