“Best stop in Michigan's thumb.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

Awesome view of Lake Huron and it is free to look around and inside the lighthouse. The whole building is open except for the light tower which opens only a few times each year. I retesting stories and a ton of history.

“Excellant View, peaceful and a great place to camp”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

There is a park, gift shop and campground there with a fantastic view.
It is away from all the hustle and bustle of life. We love Grindstone City and Pt Austin that are near by too. Great place to relax from your cares.

“This is a hidden historical treasure.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

This 1857 still operating lighthouse appears to be open during most daylight hours. I didn't make it in time to see view from the top but the mini museum is heaped with "treasures". The home of former lighthouse tenders is now furnished as if the family just stepped out for a bit. Charming!

“Beautiful Lighthouse Museum - a treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

One of the longest continuously operating lighthouses on the Great Lakes, this Lighthouse and Lightkeepers House has been restored to its original 1857 state. Each room in the museum features a different part of local maritime history. The surrounding park and campground offer a full fun experience.
