“You can't say you've seen Plymouth until you've eaten here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

I've been coming here for breakfast for about 30 years now, and their corned-beef-hash is the best I've had anywhere. The coffee is excellent, the toast is just right, the eggs are cooked just like I order them. I love that it is right on the train tracks, so when a train goes by, you can look right out at it. This is more exciting to me than my kids, actually! Let's be real, though, this restaurant is OLD. The booths are the same ones I ate at 30 years ago, the place is all a bit slanty... but I love it. On the one hand, I would love for them to modernize, maybe put in new booths, but on the other hand, I would hate for them to change a thing! The place is already so crowded as it is - would hate to draw more people in. Snooty people, be aware that you might not like the atmosphere. My family and I find it charming, and we just LOVE the food.

“An Old School Classic!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Bode's is a true Plymouth classic. The best roast beef and corned beef around. They also have excellent breakfasts. Stepping through the front door is liking stepping back into the 50s. Old school food and old school service. If you need a great sandwich or comfort food, Bode's is the place for you.

“Where is Guy Fieri?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

This place has been around for more than 50 years and is a neighborhood institution. I have never had a bad meal, here. The omelets are great. They are known for their corned beef sandwiches, and they also make wickedly good fish and chips. The potatoes that come with the omelets are a much better companion than the usual hash browns. It all just works.

The place has been around since the late 1800's, and it looks like it. The booths look like something that was taken out of a diner in the 1930s. They probably were. But it gives the place a kind of charm that you do not get from a sterile franchise restaurant.

The food makes it. The prices are really reasonable. Service is friendly. It makes for a great meal and a pleasant outing.

James
