“Pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

A very small glass of wine was $10. Very pricey to spend much time hanging out at the bar area. We decided to spend our money at the CVS and hang out in our room with friends. If prices were a little more reasonable, they would have more customers.

“Lounge and restaurant menu are uninspired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The lounge/bar area at 5ive look promising, with nice furnishings, low lights and warm atmosphere. But, then you read read the menu, taste some food and have a drink. First, there's no cocktail menu and only a beer list written on the wall. The wine list has limited wines by the glass and those are overpriced (well, it's a hotel restaurant, I guess). I made three different attempts to order basic cocktails (like a Manhattan) and they ranged from 'fair' down to 'paint-thinner.' There is no real "bar" or appetizer menu, just a sandwich list and there isn't much variety. I ordered a flatbread pizza, which was uninspired and bland. The dinner menu (which is same for the main restaurant) only had 8-10 selections that were very predictable and uninteresting -- though to be fair, I didn't order dinner so cannot comment on the quality. On a good note, the lounge staff was quite friendly, if not not terribly knowledgeable or good at mixing drinks. If you're a hotel guest here and short on time, the food is certainly fine. But, if you have time and a car (or just want really good food and an interesting cocktail/beer/wine list) go somewhere else to eat -- like right up the street to downtown Northville or south to Plymouth. 5ive is not a destination restaurant.

We only went for breakfast but the food was wonderful and price was reasonable. The staff were very cheerful and efficient.

“Unimpressrive; reasonably good value for food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Hostess seemed a bit puzzled when we arrived and explained we had a reservation. Off we went to be seated and to our surprise there were no table and chairs. These were quickly rustled up while we stood in the middle of the very noisy dining room. We settled in and ordered drinks. Unfortunately one drink order was not heard clearly over the din and a Manhattan delivered instead of the beer special Mad Hatter. Understandable considering the noise. We ordered our food which was turned out to be quite tasty - although my entree was lukewarm despite the warning from the waitress that the plate was very hot. Upon presentation of the bill I noticed the wine was not priced per the menu. The waitress promptly addressed this and returned with a revised bill apologizing for overcharging us -- $20 -- for the wine. It will take a very convincing sales job to go back. My recommendation is to go elsewhere if you have a choice.

“Lunch Or Dinner This Place Is Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

By far this is my favorite restaurant. I recently brought several guests in for lunch that had just arrived from China and everyone was impressed. The salads are super fresh and love that the fresh fish of the day can be added any way I like. The Bento Boxes are not to be missed…just try it and see.

Service is first rate and fun.
