5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Excellent two day stay over the weekend , great food ,very relaxing ,Kids loved the pool .
Food and accommodation first class .
Excellent Indian curries, complementary Indian dishes served on banana leaves while seated on cushions, and to be eaten with your fingers or with a knife and fork .

If you want to get away from the City life, then this is the place to go .

“Exotic, nice and relaxing Indian style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

The Blue Moon restaurant at first sounds a bit cheesy, but as soon as you arrive you will notice that this is something else. The whole place is ripe with a relaxing atmosphere, lying on a hilltop around 40 minutes drive from Cabarete. There is a pool and a palm tree next to it, but the focus is immediately turned towards the dining "room". Here there are only cushions around the walls and banana leafs laid out in front of them. You just understand that this is gonna be R&R maximum. And truly enough, after an aperetif in the bar, one is invited into the dining "room" and very nice Indian food is served. It may sound undelicious, but one eats with ones hands, but this actually works very nice. The place has a very hygienic appearance, just visit the bathroom and you'll see what I mean. The food is served in small bowls and you put it on the banana leafs, its actually very delicate. AND, you get all the information you need (to eat in a proper fashion, WITH YOU HANDS). After the meal tea can be served, something I strongly recommend. This is a very nice experience, and was in our case arranged by Vela restaurant in Cabarete (transport and everything by Phillip Kulik). It was not particularly expensive either. Enjoy!

“Indian food in the mountains!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

The beach and all it offers is amazing but if you visit Cabarete you really must make the effort to visit the Blue Moon. It has an almost legendary status in the region and has been producing amazing east Indian dinners for more than a decade. This is a place to come in the early evening for a sundowner enjoying the spectacular views of the ocean in the distance. Eneyda who owns and runs the place is one of the most charming people you could ever hope to meet. The meal is taken sitting on cushions on the floor, served on banana leaves and eaten in the traditional Indian style with your hand. All the dishes are explained in detail by Eneyda which adds to the experience. All in all a hidden gem in the mountains around a 20 minute drive from town. Ideal for special occasions but by prior booking only, minimum 6 people.

“Best Indian, Best Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

This is an amazing experience if you are visiting Cabarete!
The food is amazing mix of Indian and Carribean fusion. The service is fantastic and make you feel welcomed into their home. It's good to get there around 5:30 so you can watch the sunset over the mountains while having a Blue Moon Special cocktail.
The atmosphere is some of the best restaurant atmospheres I have seen. It's hard to explain, but you have to try it out for yourself and a group of friends.
The dinner is about 20$ per person, but that provides you with a lot of food. It's a three course meal!
Making a reservation is super easy and Eneyda works with you to make everything perfect for your group

“Delicious food, wonderful ambiance, incredible hostess”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

This intriguing restaurant is exotic in locale as well as menu. Set in the majestic hills above the beaches of Cabarete, it is a delight for all senses. Delicious Indian curries and complementary dishes served on banana leaves while seated on cushions surrounded by billowing fabric transport you to a Raj's palace. Our hostess was delightful, and explained each of the courses as they were presented. The support staff is enthusiastic and very helpful, and wonderfully welcoming. The Blue Moon integrates fresh Dominican fruits and vegetables in all their dishes, creating a delicious fusion of Indian and Caribbean. They pride themselves in supporting local farmers, and have an eco-friendly, sustainable business. A trip to Blue Moon is more than an evening out, it is an adventure.
